DIY BARN DOOR | Barn Door For $100

The total cost to do this wood door was $100! The barn door hardware we purchased was an additional $40, and the stain we used (was old stain, so we didn't purchase any for this project) but that will cost around $10! You're looking at $150 for this door as long as you already had all the tools to do this project!

10 - TP15 Tie Plates
1 1/4” pin nails
Wood glue
#8x9/16 in Lath Screws
80 grit sandpaper
220 grit sandpaper
Minwax Honey stain
4 1X6X10 common boards
3 1x4x10 common boards
9 1x4x3 common boards (we cut 12 feet of these in 1/2 to make them 1X2 instead of 1X4. If your Home Depot has 1X2 common boards, get 12 feet of them)

———— ALL THE CUTS YOU’LL NEED————

DOOR FRAME:
2 1x6x10 cut at 80.5” (these are for both sides)

2 1x6x10 cut at 25.5” (for the top and bottom)

1 1x6x10 cut at 69.25" (this is for the middle piece)

2 1x4x12 cut at 69.25" (these are also for the middle pieces)


---------DESIGN CUTS:---------
Remember, make your cuts and THEN make your 45 degree cut AFTER!

4 1x4 cut at 25”
8 1x4 cut at 13.5”
4 1x4 cut at 9”
8 1x4 cut at 17.5”

The You'll need 12 feet of 1X2 boards- so either get the exact boards we got and cut 12 feet of them in half to make them 1X2 instead of 1X4, OR purchase 12 feet of 1X2 if your Home Depot has them in stock!
8 1x2 cut at 9” 72
4 1x2 cut at 14” 56
4 1x2 cut at 6” 24

We also used 8 pieces of “leftover” 45 degree cuts from our 1x4’s and just placed those pieces around (explanation at 13:33)
