Renter Friendly Studio Unit Makeover | 20K Challenge | DIY Ikea Knoxhult Cabinet Installation

Hello everyone, this is Jerome. So for today's video, we're going to makeover another studio unit or another small unit. But the challenge to our unit is 20k to get it back. So basically, the unit is up for rent, so Pinapana hit the owner. Kaya lang, yung last na nag-rent sa kanya, somewhat siyempre na worn out, may mga nasira. And then one thing, Nalaglag yung kanya overhead cabinet. So basically, what we're gonna do is I-upgrade the natin yung unit by paint. I'll use my favorite white, which is mirror white. I'm replacing your little keyboards with your overhead kitchen cabinet. And then, we'll have some of those accessories and pasta-pasta cool as 20k. So we're gonna go to our floating shelves, and it's right behind us. So basically, it's actually our unit, our Yung Minwa Nitin. So you can see how we can upgrade with only 20k. So it's the first day of our 20k challenge. So the project we're doing now is itong, so it's a studio unit. So let's start with the mag-tangling of the old ways and the painting. I wonder what we'll do, what we can do for 20k. So, if you want to get me started and then start painting, we'll do it. So, guys, I'm not going to lie. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna assemble it with Beckman's Steps tool. To get it to work, we need to paint a part. Right after we assembled the tool, we started removing loose paints or the younger ones. It's partly, may leak to Siya and I told the owner to ask the management to repair kasi ang cost niya galing sa labas. We also removed the tile sticker that the previous tenant installed. Nahulog yung original na cabinet kaya tinapan nila, kaso wala din sa hulog yung pagkalagay. I'm not sure what you mean. For parts that don't damage paint, you can use a ready-to-use wall putty. We can't take it to Ace, but I think we can take it to almost all the hardware. I'm gonna use our wire mesh to make these parts too big for the pay-off or the pay-off. But better use paper roller, but better use your sinsip-sip niyang paint, and besides that, better yung kanyang result. So while waiting for the wall putty and paint to dry, sinimula na natin itong pag-assemble ng Knox Hold Cabinet by IKEA, We got it from Furniture Source. Easy to install lang din ito, meron naman syang instructions on how to assemble, Actually, it's like a Tao, same as Gina. It's our third day today, so mapapansin yung medyo maganda din yung paint natin, ayan. But we need to re-coat it to finish it. And then yung kitchen, maya i-install ko lang ating cabinets, and then yung kanyang floating shelves. Install the back of the cabinet, and afterwards, we can now proceed to prepare the wall and the wallpaper. I'm gonna use a 1.5-inch torque and screw as recommended in the manual. Ayan, our assistant, I'm going to install the cabinet. It's our favorite step stool. I'm only seven feet tall and I'm in the same room as you, so I'm perfectly fine. After we've killed the wall, the next thing is to install the shelf and the cover. After we re-align the cover, we'll put the rubber stopper in the middle of the whole set. It's our fourth day today, so what I'm gonna do now is mag-i-install my new floating shelves. Install the tin, and then paint the tin, finishing the ceiling. The same procedure with the cabinet. Nagbutas ulit tayo using a drill para si-screw notching at locked floating shelves by IKEA. And again, the furniture is re-made in a pumpkin patch. Next stop is the Mag-install Lang Tayng at the curtain rod. Mag-install it in the wall body here, but as you can see it's pretty much gone to the base of the jungle. It's part of the Nawali since we're trying to reach the wall pot. I decided to buy polyester body filler or the brand that I use is Polytuff. More durable and fast drying, like after a few minutes of lihan na natin kagad sya and after painting na din. Here are our accessories and the new ones we got from Wilcon and Ang Iba Nam and Allhome. And we're now ready to style the unit. This makeover is not the usual where we fully furnished the entire unit. Since it's for rent, the owner wanted minimal upgrade but still would make an impact and appeal to the tenant as they would see this as a reflection on how they would see your maintenance. This would also increase the value of the condo and make the tenant pay more money. Paint is my, never estimate the power of a new paint. Also, modernizing the kitchen doesn't need to be upside down.
