Small Bathroom Makeover | Modern Farmhouse + DIY Shiplap | DIY
Just like all the others, bathroom interior shouldn't be taken any less. It's a safe haven that simply brings the mood. Getting inspiration and ideas for a small bathroom could be difficult when you have so much in mind. So here's a little fun makeover/diy's that could help you re-create your own...
When I started renovating Studio Bloy's maiden project, I already had the concept for the
bathroom, and that I wanted a rustic, coastal, or farmer's vibe to it.
I wanted to bring the outdoors into that very tiny space.
Hello everyone, Gerold here, welcome back to Studio Bloy.
So with the theme I had in mind, I initially painted the whole bathroom with the color green.
But unfortunately, instead of making it look airy and fresh, it looks cramped.
So I then decided to go back to white, but this time, it's on the warmer side of white.
So what we used is nearly white.
But watch out for the green you saw, because I'm sure we'll use it or it'll reappear in our future projects.
I started the makeover by creating a mood board, which will serve as our guide throughout the whole process.
Showing you now the current state of the bathroom.
Though I already have some upgrades here, like the paint, and then I already installed the tiles all the way up to the ceiling.
It's a good thing that it's not hard to find, since I think the developer used it sparingly.
As mentioned, I already painted it with a green, but it didn't change the existing color of the tiles, and it looks smaller.
It also highlights the fixtures that I don't want to be highlighted.
So for a first day, I cleaned up the room first before painting so it won't affect the workflow, and it didn't damage the furniture.
We are going to repaint the whole green part with a flat white since our wall has color.
It would need at least 3-4 coats of paint.
For second to fourth coating, I will be using a semi-gloss paint from Davis.
Of course, with my fave shade of white. The color name, by the way, is nearly white.
Initially, we used a masking tape to make a line, but every time we peeled off the tape, the paint would come off.
So there, I covered it again and again, and it didn't look good.
So the following day, what I did is I tried hand-painting it.
This is what it looks like.
I hand-painted it, but it's a bit difficult. It takes a long time to do.
And then, you have to do it over and over again. The lines don't look good.
This is the final product, so I'm still a bit unsatisfied.
So earlier, when I came back from Wilcon, I was looking for frog tape.
Actually, I've been looking for frog tape for a long time.
This color green frog tape.
I was looking for frog tape, and this is what I found.
The review of this frog tape is quite good.
I've seen this on US vlogs.
I tried it once.
On the top part, someone peeled off the tape, but the result was good.
The lines are good.
So I peeled off the other side so we can recycle it.
Because frog tape is quite expensive.
It's around P500 per gallon.
So hopefully, this will be successful.
The color I'm using for the lines is light gray.
I just got it from the Nearly White paint and added a little black to it.
I used my oil paint brush here since it's easier and it's not too messy.
So we can reuse our tape.
The result of using frog tape was good.
We reused the other side, so we saved money.
As you can see, the lines are good.
I originally wanted to replace the mirror.
But I didn't want to break it, so I made a way.
Instead, I made a frame out of aluminum tile trims that you can easily buy from hardware stores.
I sprayed it with matte varnish.
To match our theme, I wanted the frame to be gold.
I spray painted it with matte black.
So that it matches us and our colors don't clash.
So when the unit was turned over, the basic fixtures of the bathroom were complete.
The bidet wasn't included, so we used this as our plumber.
This is easy to do.
Just make sure to turn off the main water line in the unit.
Before you install this.
We also added a towel holder, which I got from Home Depot.
This is easy to install.
Just make sure to have a drill to drill a hole in the wall.
If you notice, our floor tiles are worn out.
And it's slippery when it gets wet.
That's why I don't like it.
As much as I wanted to replace the tile.
It's a bit expensive and takes a long time to do.
Instead, I used this run-in floor deck in gray.
It's very easy to install.
Aside from that, we also achieved the outdoor look of our bathroom.
So I went to H&M Home.
Usually, I always spot a sale here.
But right now, there aren't many.
But I saw this native basket.
It's in the same place as our inspiration.
I think I might go for this one.
Because this one is a bit cheap.
Let's buy this one.
I also went to Wilcon to purchase our light fixture.
This is the one we chose for our bathroom.
I was also able to purchase some accessories.
That we can use later in our styling.
Originally, our clothing shelves were in color white.
Though, it's a bit worn out.
And it doesn't suit our theme.
That's why I came up with a solution.
I purchased a sticker vinyl that we hung here.
On my next video, you'll see how we made over the floating shelves.
Aside from its beautiful look,
floating shelves can provide storage spaces as well as other storage units.
But without the use of bucket cabinets.
This makes your space look open.
Therefore, creating an illusion of a bigger room.
I added this towel bar at the bottom of our lower shelf.
For hanging smaller stuffs that can be dried.
Like face towels.
And we are now ready to style the bathroom.
We're using our favorite stool.
The Beck Vamp Steps Stool by IKEA.
We reused our other accessories.
Like this trash bin.
I think I got this from Makeroom.
And the other one,
I got from Furniture Source.
And for our laundry basket,
we bought this from H&M Home.
And our towel is also from H&M Home.
The vase, I forgot.
But I previously bought this from an IG store.
Our baskets, I got those from Dapitan Arcade.
Both our toiletries, shampoos, and mats are from IKEA.
Which I got, by the way, from Furniture Source.
So for additional accessories, we also put this on our door.
For people who are used or unused.
The floor mat is also from H&M Home.
As usual, this video won't end without an art feature
that we made out of oil color on paper.
So we made a botanical painting out of it.
So we can make a gallery wall together with the mirror.
To finish the look of our bathroom,
is this two botanical oil painting I made.
Finally, here is the finished look for the bathroom.
I will put a detailed list of all the stuffs I used for the makeover
in the description box if you need them.
I really hope you all enjoyed this small bathroom remodel
and gave you some inspiration and ideas in doing your own bathroom.
