OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Cream Review - Does It Really Work?

eye cream. So today we will be talking about the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream. So I'm gonna be reviewing it, testing it out, telling you my experience with it, because I've been trying it out for at least three weeks. I mean, I want to show you what it does. And of course, this one has vitamin C and is a collagen boosted eye cream. So the amount of product that is in this little jar right here, there is 15 milliliters or 0.5 fluid ounces in this container. And it retails for a whopping $53 Canadian, and that is quite a lot, but it is clean at Sephora as well. It says it's for normal, oily, combination, dry, sensitive skin. It's for fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, dryness, or as I would say, like the visible signs of aging. This apparently will brighten your under eye, and it's going to increase the concealer wear, and it's going to make the concealer easier to apply under the eye as well. So we're gonna have to test it out, of course. I just want to say that this little eye cream right here was inspired by the banana bright powders that makeup artists would use, because they use it to brighten the under eyes. Let's talk about the packaging and how it looks overall, the product. So when I look at the jar, I think about oranges, you know, it just reminds me of that. I really like the packaging. When you open it up, there is a little bright color, so it is a banana color, but when you look at it very closely, there is some sparkles in it, which is nice. It's going to help reflect the light, and it does smell really, really good. It smells like oranges. I absolutely love it, and it says that it is for sensitive skin. So even though it is for that, if you're sensitive with a lot of, like with fragrance, you might want to avoid this altogether. I'm gonna come up close and apply it and tell you how it feels, what I think about the product, and the first impressions that I had when I applied it. This is quite close. That is what my under eye looked like. Of course, now with the bright, bright lights, it doesn't look like I have that much dark circles, but in real life, as I would say, like my dark circles are way darker than they appear at the moment. I'm gonna show you the amount of product that I actually use. I just really dip it just a little bit into the jar. I don't really press, and that is around the amount of product that I use for my under eyes, for each. So it doesn't, you don't really need a lot of product for this, and it says that just apply it all on the eye area, and it's really gonna do its thing. As you can see, like there's that light yellow cast that is here, and you apply it to all of the eye area. This is what it looks like for now. It is kind of shiny, and this, this has a kind of like a light texture. In this lighting, of course, it's harder to see, especially. What I have to say is, it does absorb very easily, and the moisture of this, so it feels really hydrated, and I have a really dry skin, and this really moisturizes me all day long, and I use this without makeup, and with makeup. Every single day, I will use it, and then I'll apply the other side as well. As you can see, especially for this eye right here, it really brightens instantly. Of course, it's not gonna be like a huge, like miraculous thing, but it's really gonna help brighten a little bit, and how the light will hit your skin, like the light is not like always gonna be that way, so it does brighten instantly, but just a little bit, so it's not gonna be miraculous in any way, shape, or form. It's just really gonna help with how the light hits your face. Of course, if I'm like this, like it's gonna look like I have dark circles, but like if I'm like this, then the light, when it hits it, it's gonna look like I have less dark circle than I actually had before, and with the sparkles and everything, it's really gonna catch the light, and the color as well. It's gonna kind of color correct your under eye, and even when I asked the Sephora employee if she liked it, some people that have a lot, like big dark circles, they might not see a huge of a difference because of how it is. You know, it's a cream, it's not supposed to color correct, it's just an eye cream that will brighten up the under eye just a little bit. It's gonna help with, you know, your natural skin, or it's gonna help with the concealer or the foundation that you're putting. So now, what I want to do is, I want to put some foundation all over my face to show you what it looks like with the cream under, because it's supposed to help with foundation and concealer. All right, so skin is prepped. I did not go all the way to the eye, I just go around it to make sure that only the cream is under my eyes, so that's one thing you want to make sure when testing it out. And we're gonna go natural for today, so I'm gonna go with the Huda Beauty stick foundation. I'll apply this all over my face very, very quick, very, very quickly. So that is the foundation with avoiding the eye area. So this is a cream foundation, and there is one thing that I wanted to show you, which if I'm going for a very natural look, that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna avoid altogether the concealer because it really creases a lot, and I think it works better with foundation anyway, and especially the cream formulation. So I put a little bit of the foundation stick, so this one, I put it right here, and I just place it under my eye where the cream is. So instead of using a concealer, I just pack on a little bit more the foundation, and it just sticks there. It doesn't become dry in any way, as you can see with the Banana Brite eye cream plus this foundation. It just looks really, really good, and you don't actually need to buy other products or to put other products on top. If you want, you could set it a little bit with a tiny amount of powder, but I don't do it. Of course, like, my dark circles are not going to be completely disappeared, but if you want something that is very natural and you want something that will help, I definitely know that the eye cream helps with the long-lasting effect of what I put under my eyes because it's very hydrating and it's just very high quality as well, but it just permits me not to put, like, a lot of product under my eye to make it look kind of, like, cakey and, like, in the fine line. The difference is kind of phenomenal. Phenomenal. So any type of concealer you would put, I think it would do the same. I just know that this eye cream specifically really works well with cream products overalls, and as I would say, when I put concealer and other stuff like this, it means, like, I don't need to apply as much product as I would normally have to. Like, I really dabbed just a little bit on the foundation stick and it just works instantly, especially this side because this side looks more pretty. We always have a better side than the other one. As you can see, it looks pretty good, uh, even only with the foundation. Banana Brite eye cream, it acts kind of like a primer and if you put, like, a nice decent amount under your eyes, it's going to become kind of sticky and that will help the makeup to grip onto your skin and it's just going to look really, really good. Which, would you ever think that I had only foundation? Tell me down below if you think, like, if I, you would see me like this, if you would think that I have concealer, you know, other stuff like this. And with that cream, I'm telling you, it does creases way less than if I would put just regular eye cream. And I tried a lot of eye creams before and this one is definitely, definitely my favorite. So, I'm just gonna go finish off my makeup and then I will be right back. So, this is the makeup completed. It is very natural, very nice, and as you can see, my under eye look very nice. Um, it just looks awesome in my opinion. This banana eye cream, I feel like it's so nice. Like I said earlier, it was my favorite eye cream of all time at this moment and I tried a lot from the drugstore, from other, I tried one from Clinique, which I use every night and it definitely doesn't keep me as hydrated as I would want. So, this one is definitely a hit for me. Um, do I recommend this product? Of course, I highly recommend this banana eye cream. Did I see my fine lines go away? As I would say that my skin is a little bit more hydrated, more plumped, but I wouldn't say that my big lines under my eyes, which you see like there's big creases, this is not gonna go away from this cream. Um, the collagen boosted, of course, these things are gonna be working over time. So, even though I've been using it for three weeks around, a month maybe, two, three weeks, a month, um, it's really gonna improve little by little the appearance of your under eyes. These dark circles are not gonna go away. This is just genetics overall or if you are lacking sleep, it's, you know, you need to sleep more. But this eye cream will definitely diminish a little bit the dark circles under your eye. Like I said, it's not miraculous. It's not gonna be like vanished and you're like, ooh, full makeup on and stuff like that. Um, products don't work like this. It's gonna improve, but it's not gonna just make them disappear. And as I wanted to say, this product was an Allure Beauty favorite of 2020. So, uh, definitely a hit on this one. And I bought this not full price. I bought it with the Makeup Wander kit.
