Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another episode of Cars Unlocked.
My name is Christopher. Today we're going to be checking out the 2019
Nissan Qashqai SL. If you want to see more videos like this please do not
hesitate to subscribe to my channel. Give me a thumbs up. Let me know if you
have any questions about the Qashqai or any of my other videos
in the comments section below. So on the side view of the Nissan Qashqai,
you can see this one is obviously in the premium three coat white paint.
The Nissan Qashqai was released to Canada in 2017 and has become their second best selling SUV
next to the Nissan Rogue. Obviously you have a bold and sporty and athletic stance here with
the Qashqai. In this top model, the SL model, you do get the nice silver roof rails.
You have your LED turning signals on the mirror and there is a lower camera as well down below.
That's for your around view monitor which I'm going to get to in a second.
So on the front of the Nissan Qashqai, obviously Nissan's signature V motion grille is right in
the front. That's right below the nice flattened out Nissan emblem. They have this flattened out
because the front sensor is behind it. That's for your forward emergency braking. So with this top
you get the forward emergency braking as well as the pedestrian detection.
The headlights are LED. A staple of Nissan's headlights are the boomerang style headlights.
So you do have auto on off and LED headlights and then our fog lights are down below.
This front look has a nice little underbite to it. So it gives it a little
distinguishment from the Nissan Rogue with that bold front stance.
So checking out the rims of the Nissan Qashqai. You can see we do have the nice two-tone rims.
Those are exclusive with this SL package. You go up to the 19-inch aluminum alloy rims.
It's four vented disc brakes on this sporty Qashqai and you do have the Nissan brake assist as well.
The rear of the Qashqai is pretty similar to last year's model.
The boomerang style taillights are present here. Our Qashqai and our SL all-wheel drive badging is
in chrome. Our rear sensors are down below. So you have four rear sensors. That's going to assist
when parking and it's going to help with that 360 camera. So taking a look at the power plan
of the Nissan Qashqai. You're going to get the two-liter four-cylinder engine. It's going to
give you about 141 horsepower and 147 pounds-feet of torque. It is Nissan CVT transmission so
I find it a little lagging on the acceleration. Some of our customers find it a little slow
for the two-liter with the CVT. This one you get the interior of all-wheel drive. That's optional
on the lower models but it's going to come right with this only one package in the SL package.
You're going to average about 7.3 liters for every 100 kilometers on the highway
and 8.8 in the city. That's going to translate into about 38 miles per gallon and 32 in the city.
It's going to come obviously with the full warranty here in Canada. It's a three-year
60,000 comprehensive warranty and five-year 100,000 for the powertrain. So with the intelligent key
you do have the keyless entry. So you can just leave the key in your pocket and you push the
and it's going to open the door. One of the best features about this is that it's impossible to
lock your key in the car. If I have the key in the car and I go to lock the door
it notifies me and it won't allow me to lock the car. So on the key, standard Nissan intelligent
key that you get here, it is going to have your remote start. So I just need to make sure the
vehicle is locked and click and hold this and it's going to start the vehicle up. It's supposed
to have a range of about 400 meters but I'll let you be the judge of that. So now that the car
started and unlocked let's take a look at the interior. So when you use the remote start you
still have to get in and put the put your foot on the brake and push the push button start there and
then it starts up. Nice d-shaped wheel on the Qashqai. Nothing's changed from last year's model.
It is a heated steering wheel when you get this top model and the leather wrapped steering wheel
gives it a bit more comfier feel. One thing they added from last year's model is the Pro Pilot
Assist. So this one has the intelligent cruise control. It will keep you a safe distance from
the car in front of you and the Pro Pilot Assist will use the cameras and the sensors to keep you
centered in the lane. So you can really take your hands off the wheel and use the assistance there.
This one is going to come with every Nissan standard safety feature that they have like
the blind spot warning. I talked about the Ford emergency braking and the pedestrian detection.
The lane departure warning as well and then that Pro Pilot Steering Assist. There's an Eco Mode
which is going to help save you on fuel. You do have your Bluetooth right on the wheel and then
our vehicle information screen controls are right on the wheel as well and I can control my radio.
So on the infotainment system you get the nice 7-inch touchscreen display here and this is taken
right from last year's model. Nothing has really changed. You can do things like your Android Auto
and your Apple CarPlay with this. You have the Sirius XM radio. One downside, no Bose audio sound
system in this top model. Usually the Bose is a signature of Nissan's SL and Platinum packages but
you do not get the Bose in the Qashqai. You do have the AM FM, the Bluetooth audio streaming like I
said. There is a Wi-Fi connection so you can connect to the Wi-Fi and you can play music from
your USB. Similar nav system that was in last year's model. You can have your Google Points of
Interest. You can punch in the nav and it will dictate where you need to go very easily. There's
no subscription required or anything like that. You can just update the maps as you so choose.
If I push the camera button at the top it's going to take a look at our 360 monitor here. So right
now it's showing the front and you see I do have a camera on all four sides of the vehicle.
It does have the moving object detection that's what that MOD means. So it's going to detect a
car or someone on a bike walking right through the front there and it will notify you when that
happens. So it is the Nissan dual temperature control. So I can just set the temperature here.
You can see the fans are coming on now that I've set the temperature. You can have both sides
separated or you can keep them synced with the auto mode there. Down below is a little storage
here. We have a little storage for our cell phone, our USB, only one USB up here, our auxiliary and
then our electric parking brake. Just frees up a little bit of space in the center console. So
sitting in the driver's seat it is an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat. The signature
Nissan Zero Gravity seats inspired by NASA are very comfortable. It's going to help with long
drives. I do have the dual lumbar support as well just to make it perfect for my liking.
The front two seats are heated and we do have this nice black leather appointments on the seats.
So it's a nice straight back shifter same as last year's model. The leather there gives it a little
higher end look as you can see. Like I said this one is the integrative all-wheel drive so that
makes the Qashqai very popular. A lot of complaints that the Nissan Kicks was not made in all-wheel
drive. It was only front-wheel drive and I think that allows for the Qashqai to get more sales.
So here we are in the rear of the Qashqai. Not as much room as the Rogue but it's fit for that small
millennial markets here. They're not going to have too many passengers. It's not meant for a
large family. So I could sit here comfortable for a long time. The leather seats are great.
And then I have the center armrests and cup holders. Two cup holders in the center armrest
and there's a cup holder in each door. So on the rear of the Qashqai, just like the back seat, not
as much space as the Rogue. We have enough space for 20 cubic feet of cargo with these seats folded
up. The nice divide and hide feature is present. That's a very popular feature from Nissan where
you can tuck things below. Obviously it's going to come with our Qashqai branded carpeted mats
and this makes for a really easy way to hide your storage. So the seats fold down pretty easily.
It is a 60-40 split and they can fold down with the touch of a button and you can see the split
there to add for more cargo space. So there you have it folks. We checked out the 2019 Nissan
Qashqai. Please don't forget to subscribe to my channel to see more videos of me unlocking the
2019s as they come in. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask me in the comment section
