Can you guess where we are now? We are in the largest country in Europe that counts with
interesting and complex history, patriotic and proud citizens, amazing cuisine and one of the
most affordable living expenses in the whole Europe. Welcome to Ukraine. Is it true that
Ukraine is super cheap? We'll see. Nicholas and I were in Greece a few weeks ago. We decided to
go to Ukraine for a month because we heard the rumors that Ukraine is super cheap. So now I'm
going to make a video about the living expenses here in Kyiv but also I had to go shopping here,
you know. It is true that it is a little cheaper than in other countries and I want to show you
everything about it. Let's get into the video. This is Kreshetik street. It's one of the most
popular shopping streets in Kyiv. In this street you will find stores like Mango, Zara
and a very popular Ukrainian outlet where you find the most popular Ukrainian brands.
So I'm going to go inside and show you some clothing items from there.
Okay, I didn't buy anything on this store because it was out of my budget but just so you know the
clothes style here is super cute. In Zara I spent about like 40 dollars and I got three
shirts and also I got this pair of earrings that are super cute. Globus mall is located at the
independent square metro station which goes by the name of Mainin Nizalesnosti. It is a
subterranean mall constructed in 2002. It's divided in two parts and it counts with more
than 200 shops and restaurants. Oh and this is a super famous typical Ukrainian food. You can get
a soup, salad, dumpling. It's really good, really cheap too.
Sum is another popular mall located in the city center. It used to be a Soviet shopping mall but
the building survived major changes in 2017. Nowadays it is one of the most fashionable and
expensive malls in Kyiv. I wanted to compare the prices of an expensive brand here in Kyiv to the
prices in Miami and here are the results of my experiment. I chose this purse which is 533 dollars
if you get it from Kyiv at Tuzum. The exact same purse in Neiman Marcus using the Miami location
is 566 dollars. I would say that this is a decent discount. What do you think?
Okay so there's men's wear and shoes, beauty and perfumes, women's wear, a lot of women's wear,
sportswear, children's wear, food haul, cinema and yeah that's it. Let's go. Next station
Gulliver mall. One of my favorite malls in Kyiv if not my number one and weirdly enough
Miko would agree. That is because this is where we go to the gym, grocery shopping and more.
There are also amazing places to eat here. Take a look. Hey guys we are at Gulliver and we're eating
in the sixth floor. It's a Mercato Italiano so an Italian supermarket that has a restaurant
integrated and we ordered a pizza for appetizer. Miko ordered risotto and I ordered a
zuppetta seafood dish. We just got out of the gym so this mall has an incredible feature that it has
like a gym, shopping, supermarket but also restaurants so it has everything I need for
happiness. We are planning to do bowling after dinner which is like a floor below us right now.
This place is in the moderate expensive side but even then it was cheaper when compared to
Miami prices. Anyway let's get to the most important part. Shopping in Gulliver. Most of
the things that I bought are from this store Stradivarius. Let me tell you exactly how much
I spent in total. 3700 Ukrainian divnya which is equivalent to about like 130 ish US dollars. Okay
so I got this white dress, I got this green bodysuit, this shirt. I like like comfy stuff
like this and it's super cute. I got this blouse and this pair of shorts so one two three four
five. Five pieces in total and let's see that's not particularly super expensive. I think it's
in the moderate range however I don't like spending too much money in clothes especially
because I'm traveling all the time and like many times I have to leave some clothes behind but at
this point in time if I have too many winter clothing items that I'm no longer using because
of the summer so I needed to do some like readjustment of the clothes that I have.
So that being said I had to do some shopping. The first time I ran into this mall it was a
complete accident and I was so confused. Call me ignorant but besides an underground mall in
Toronto when I was 16 I have never been to a random underground mall with so much variety of
stores. The Metrograd mall counts with boutiques, coffee shops, cheese shops, supplement stores,
pharmacies, tanning stores, nail salons, stationary stores. There's so much to see.
Besides the variety of stores my favorite part is that this mall takes you to places with
entertainment. For your understanding as you walk the Metrograd mall
you can take exits to different main streets in Kyiv.
Something else that I purchased here in Kyiv that is not necessarily clothes is headphones.
I went to an electronic store and I asked for the famous AirPods. The guy in the store told me like
if you want to get them cool but you're just paying for the brand you know why don't you get
another brand and I'm like okay tell me all about it. So there is this brand OPPO that I actually
have never seen in the US. I want to show you the headphones. They're really good. I really like them
so far. They were 87 US dollars which is not bad at all for the quality. Hey guys we are at Gulliver
mall and I'm going to show you some shopping. Show you what? Show you some of the stores.
We are at the mall Gulliver. 3,700 Ukrainian. Oh my god.
I hope you guys had fun with this video. I'm curious about what you think about the prices
compared with your country or city. So leave me a message with your thoughts in the comments below.
