Dog Ear Cropping the pros and cons of Ear Cropping?

What's up guys it's your boy Ruben with Pitbulls Over Humans and today I'm gonna be talking with you guys about the pros and cons of ear cropping. Now this is just my opinion and I did some research on the topic so I'm not just giving you guys BS. I know this is a controversial topic so that's the reason why I'm going over it today and I just want to show you guys or share some knowledge with you guys okay. So the first question is what are the pros of ear cropping? Here I show you three bullet points of what I think pros could be for ear cropping. Protection from hunting dogs, ear infection prevention, and appearance. Back in the day hunting dogs would get their ears cropped and their tails docked to prevent prey or predators from biting them and getting a hold of them and causing more injury. So they are less likely to injury if they got their ears cropped and so on. So that's the main reason why back in the day owners used to crop their ears is to help them hunt more than anything. Now ear infection prevention I've actually did my research on this so it is the same number if the dog has their ears cropped or not they will still be likely to catch an infection. They have the same chances no matter what the breed is. Now as for appearance most dog owners that do get the cropping really just like the appearance of the dog and heck I can't even blame them. Sometimes I like the appearance of some of the dogs that have their ears cropped but the main reason why I feel like people get their dogs ear cropped nowadays is because it's all appearance. They don't go hunting out and stuff like that and hey there's nothing wrong with it. Some people even compare it to like a baby getting a circumcision or they argue let's say getting the dog neutered. All I'm saying is I do believe it's the owner's decision if they want to get the dog's ears cropped. Now the next question is what are the cons of ear cropping? So in my list I have cosmetic is completely cosmetic. The dog ear infection is a myth and it causes pain and trauma to the dog in the later stages of their life. Here are the reasons why I personally do not get my dog's ears cropped is because the appearance thing it is more of a cosmetic you know it's like what they prefer it's a preference and I honestly think my dog looks great with his ears flopping everywhere and I do think the dogs look great with their ears cropped but not all of them and I don't know some of them have a funny look but um the ear infection prevention is actually a myth like I was going over the recent research that I just took recently. Studies shows that it doesn't matter whether the dog has floppy ears or if they have cropped ears they have the same chances of getting the ear infection exclude I think a select amount of breeds. I believe Doberman is one of them because they have more glands like I was saying earlier but they all have the same chances of catching the ear infection. I mean unless you're you know hunting with your dog and you have them hunting for you maybe you have more of a like a concern you know with cropping the ears maybe it is beneficial towards you but most people that do get it that I know are not going hunting whatsoever and it's just to make the dog look good and if you argue with him it's the ear infection well study shows that the ear infection myth is actually a bust so it's it's whatever how you want to take it I'm not going against trying to argue with people but um that's just what study shows it's all in the numbers. Now as for the later stages of their life it could cause some trauma and pain because dogs do show their emotions in their ears and their tails you could tell if a dog is happy sad angry nervous all by their facial expressions mostly in their ear so um yeah it could cause some trauma maybe some pain if they do the procedure wrong but you know I don't know the chances of that really so uh there's really a big divide when it comes to this topic some owners like it some don't how about you guys let me know in the comment box what you guys would do with your dog what do you guys prefer and what your opinion on is of it and don't forget to subscribe to the channel pitbulls over humans and click on that bell notification I want to hear your guys's opinion in the future too uh so yeah let me know in the comment box I want to hear your guys's opinion on it and I will see you guys next video.
