Day 2 of our Appalachia Trip with Lifestyle Overland

Extra inch would go a long way. As you can see it's quite foggy and it's almost literally freezing. It's 34 degrees outside, so cold. But actually we stayed pretty warm last night. I've got these really really thick heavy sleeping bags that I never use. I was perfectly comfortable in that and so was Evelyn. But it's very cold out right now. My toes are freezing. So we're... Kevin's on his way out. Kevin and Sarah. Caroline. It looks like and it almost looks like right now the sun may... Oh it's really bright. I was really hoping to dry some of this stuff up before I put it away. I got 11 acres of home if I need to dry it out in the nice warm Florida sun I can. We're right on time. Ladies and gentlemen, the McHouston's. My battery literally died as I was pulling up. Oh really? Always. There's so many great moments people just never see. A V8 sounds really good. What sweetheart? Yeah they're gonna go use the restroom. We're gonna we're gonna go back and meet them. Not quite sure what today holds, but we're gonna find out. And we're gonna take you along with us. Away from the camera and to the camera. What we do I don't even... You know why you know why we run? It's because otherwise we'd have like 10 hours worth of footage of just sitting while we're just walking along. And we're like 100 gigabytes worth of video. That's it. Of just nothing. For seven seconds of goodness. That is what the Blue Ridge Mountains look like right there. Look at all the layers. That's one big campfire. Wow isn't that pretty? Yeah. You think it's pretty too? Yeah. Somebody brushed their hair today and somebody didn't. She goes oh I forgot to bring my brush again. What are you doing Ev? Taking pictures and the video. So we have stopped here at Jack's River Campground. Did I say that right? And man this was going to be our backup campsite that we were going to go to last night if we the other one didn't work out. Beef and vegetable stew or soup or is it the same thing? Some people see it different. All right let's go look at my gourmet meal. So on the trail I go real fancy. We got some mountain house rice and chicken and this is the really good stuff. This is the backpacker's pantry. Santa Fe style rice and beans with chicken. The only thing that would make this better is Tabasco. One thing that I've learned is you want to make sure to read the instructions. Too much water or too little water no bueno. Choose your mountain house meal. This is a lot. I can't eat all of this dad. You have to eat all of it or you don't get any pudding. What's pudding? We don't even have pudding. So you got a campfire going? Oh yeah. Yes I made it myself. Man that is a beautifully crafted campfire right there. Thank you. I learned it in my life skills girl scout training called posh fire. Turn the propane tank on and light the fire. Because if it gets too close to the edge it will crush one of those. So he was showing me, you see the lights up there in the eye camper? That is, can you see it? That's the strip light from light force. You've seen me use it. It's just been a couple of years. I have one. I just don't have it in my tent but that is, I'm going to do it. Can I have two cameras? Now you are. Two cameras. Now you're going to be famous again. Yeah. What's for dinner? Chicken rice. So I didn't say goodbye to you fine folks last night. So I just wanted to say goodbye. Kevin once again it was amazing. Spending a couple of nights together and getting to catch up and the campfire chats and all the fun stuff that happens. Glad you rode with us man. We had a blast. Caroline absolutely loved playing with Evelyn and looking forward to the next time. I'm glad we were able to finally get them together. Well we just had an interesting casualty. We were building up that trail and I got my finger in the way. And a rock came down right on my finger. And it's starting to swell right here. I don't know if it's broken. It doesn't really feel broken. You know when you touch it. But it's definitely swelling up. And so I can bend the knuckle. But it hit right here. And honestly I'd be surprised if it wasn't broken. But I don't know. I guess I guess we'll see. Check this out. You think that'll help? So the good news is I don't think the swelling has gone up anymore. Than what it was a few minutes ago. And it's not really bleeding too bad. It hurts like freaking crap though. Dude I am so sorry. It's all good. It was an accident. Unless you were trying to break my finger. I watched for the hole. The hand went back. I wasn't a great catch if you turned it the other way. I know. Yeah I was gonna. I was gonna throw some antibiotic ointment on it. I've got some in my little finger. You're the injured guy. Let me administer first aid here. All right let's see here.
