I bought a new Prospector XL

I bought a new Prospector XL So we're back here at Overland Expo West and I'm walking up and I'm gonna say hi to Chase Gentry, I thought this was your Bronco What's up internet, how are you guys doing today? You guys having fun watching Expo West with him? Yep 2022 Overland Expo West kind of returned to normalcy May What is the date? 22nd. Evelyn, what do you think? Just a little bored because her buddy's not here yet Working on that Since I had the white truck I'd long said that if I would ever replace it It would be with the new Prospector XL this journey that we're all on as Overlanders is really like this constant quest to find the perfect vehicle The perfect vehicle for me is gonna be different obviously than the perfect vehicle for you And certainly there's gonna be compromises that come with all of that. But for me this platform has been perfect This lifestyle Overland, holy crap Holy crap, it's Mike with Overland Bound. What's going on? This was a different kind of event different than what I've done in the past because I flew up and I flew up on Thursday and then spent the night Thursday night with my brother and then we drove up Friday together and the reason why we did it like that was because I had a weird logistical element that I had to Manage typically I'm rolling in Thursday. I'm camping on site I've got all day Friday all day Saturday and all day Sunday this year I didn't have Friday and then Saturday I was I was here half day with my brother So I was spending time with him and I wasn't Participating in the event the way I have in the past So it just it feels a little different the show is kind of winding up now. It's about 145 and the event technically closes at 3 and I still have quite a bit of People quite a few people that I need to go find that I want to see and talk to and connect So I think that's where it feels a little Rushed if you know what I mean? All right, I gotta find Shavas Shavas, where's he at? Where's Shavas? Shavas anywhere? I know where he's at. He's at the decked guys. I Know where the decked guys are. I found you We found the Shavas About the white truck back in 2019 kind of the plan was this is kind of my forever truck It's the kind of truck where you know, the Cummins will last forever and as long as everything on the inside Lasts a long time. We should be good to go for a while. If you remember when I first got this truck the 5th gen Ram Prospector XL Stuff parts had just been announced and as time went on the allure to get the new one just became too strong I've never seen an in person and today Shavas is gonna show us his Okay, here we go It's nice So, do you like it? I love it. Is it your favorite setup so far my favorite setup so far I mean, I've had rooftop tents for like six years So transitioning into a full camper topper is definitely a big change Don't you know Yes, I was looking for you earlier we found them how's it going we stopped by guess what I just did like two weeks ago I think I know what you just did two weeks ago. I edited the video for for the bliss mobile phone Oh nice, but I also bought a truck two weeks ago. Yeah, I knew that part I Kind of the idea was to keep the white truck for four to five years Maybe six years if I really really liked it I certainly planned on keeping it longer than two and a half three years But all things considered I felt like now was a better time to buy a new truck then maybe fast-forwarding Two years down the road for instance, honestly, I've been resisting the urge for a long time But I knew when the time was right I knew who I was gonna call Jackson Ellis with Glendale Dodge Chrysler Ram and Jeep has been like for me Anyway, he's been like the go-to guy if you want a new Prospector XL I know he does a lot of collaborative work with AEV. I talked to him a lot over the past I knew he was the one I was gonna buy a new truck from I literally just took delivery of this brand-new 2022 AEV Prospector XL, I just I honestly I can't say enough enough good things about you guys. Well, we really appreciate it We appreciate your business. Well, thank you very much Beautiful truck. This is one of the nicest ones. I think we've built It could be very happy with it being in business for myself, you know, I mean, I run a small business I know that's what you do. You're running a small business family business. Not only this workout really smoothly, but Jackson personally, and I don't know he could be involved personally every time because I don't know how he runs this I try But he's but they've done it just a really good job and his team that I've been working with that I'm not really trying to like, you know, I don't know. I'm just I'm trying to be as genuine as possible here It was just amazing experience. And and I really really appreciate everything you've done for us and I Kind of kind of just fell into place Know that I've said often I would only replace mine with a brand new one and I really meant it I'm kind of still in disbelief This is a 2022 AV Prospector XL serial numbered build at the you know at the AV HQ. I'm just I'm just I'm giddy. I'm like giddy with excitement. I'm also exhausted. So I'm having a hard time conveying my emotions adequately on You know to you guys So yeah overall I'd say it's been a Pretty swell weekend So what's next? Well today's Sunday May 22nd tomorrow. We're heading up to the San Rafael swell unless something else Grabs my attention, you know shiny object syndrome between now and tomorrow morning. That's that's the plan Kevin has a route or a series of routes. I got to watch his videos tonight in like Hone down exactly where I'm going but with lifestyle overland he's got a series of routes up in the San Rafael swell area that honestly look otherworldly and that's That's where we're going. That's what I want to see That's what we're doing.
