The open letter’s connection to the billionaire Microsoft founder is significant, as Gates is in the middle of a public feud with free speech advocate Musk. Musk replied to this claim on Twitter, and said 'What a dick move!' Gates is also an outspoken censorship proponent, frequently calling on tech companies to do more to stop “health misinformation” spreading online. Musk threatens to reverse Gates’ strongly desired censorship policies — and now faces the wrath of Gates-funded NGOs. Recently, Musk asked his 94 million Twitter followers to uncover the funding behind the 26 NGOs who signed an intimidation letter threatening to destroy the company’s advertising revenue if Musk reversed its censorship policies. Musk followed up his request by highlighting one particular shadowy group, Accountable Tech, musing: “I wonder who funds them”. Per FFO’s analysis, disclosure files for the Gates Foundation grantee list show a whopping 102 separate cash grants to or through New Venture Fund, totaling an incredible $457 million since 2008. This is the real war of 2 billionaires. This isn't the first time that Elon Musk has engaged in a feud with Bill Gates. Earlier, Gates had criticized the SpaceX CEO's plan to buy Twitter for $44 billion. Gates said last month that while Musk has a good record as a businessman, he could make misinformation on Twitter worse if he completes his takeover as planned. I do think that people who own platforms have a role there, and eventually the platforms
tried to play that role.
You know, he actually could make it worse.
Research exclusively identifies hundreds of millions of dollars flowing from the Bill
Gates Foundation to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter urging Twitter
advertisers to boycott the company if Elon Musk restores free speech on the platform.
And Elon Musk once again engaged in a feud with Microsoft's chairman because he accused
Bill Gates of attacking his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter.
What exactly happened between these two billionaires?
Let's find out on today's episode of Tesla Fans.

Now, let's get started on today's content.
The open letter's connection to the billionaire Microsoft founder is significant, as Gates
is in the middle of a public feud with free speech advocate Musk.
Musk replied to this claim on Twitter and said, what a dick move.
Gates is also an outspoken censorship proponent, frequently calling on tech companies to do
more to stop health misinformation spreading online.
Musk threatens to reverse Gates' strongly desired censorship policies and now faces
the wrath of Gates-funded NGOs.
Recently, Musk asked his 94 million Twitter followers to uncover the funding between the
26 NGOs who signed an intimidation letter threatening to destroy the company's advertising
revenue if Musk reversed its censorship policies.
Musk followed up his request by highlighting one particular shadowy group, Accountable
Tech, musing, I wonder who funds them?
Per FFO's analysis, disclosure files for the Gates Foundation grantee list show a whopping
102 separate cash grants to or through New Venture Fund, totaling an incredible $457
million since 2008.
But that's only the tip of the iceberg.
This isn't the first time that Elon Musk has engaged in a feud with Bill Gates.
Earlier, Gates had criticized the SpaceX CEO's plan to buy Twitter for $44 billion.
Gates said last month that while Musk has a good record as a businessman, he could make
misinformation on Twitter worse if he completes his takeover as planned.
Gates was quoted by the news agency
That's not his track record.
I mean, his track record with Tesla and SpaceX is pretty mind-blowing at putting together
a great team of engineers and, you know, taking the people who work in those fields in a less
bold way and really showing them up.
I kind of doubt that'll happen this time, but we should have an open mind and never
underestimate Elon.
Apple's pregnant man emoji, in case you need to kill a boner fast, Gates said that
Musk's tweets do not bother him.
Not only Bill Gates, but also Soros, Clinton, Obama staffers shoot off anti-Musk letters
to boycott Twitter.
After Musk tweeted about who funds these organizations that want to control your access to information,
the reports surfaced late on Wednesday that the groups behind the anti-Musk campaign belong
to wealthy Democrat donors and their family foundations, labor unions, and the governments
of European nations.
As we mentioned before, about 26 activist organizations and NGOs signed a letter to
Twitter advertisers asking them to boycott the platform if Musk makes content moderation
changes.
It was later revealed that some of these groups are funded or tied to billionaire philanthropist
Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter will further toxify our information ecosystem and be a
direct threat to public safety, especially among those already most vulnerable and marginalized,
the groups wrote to advertisers.
Under Musk's management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand
attached to polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and
news media is already at an all-time low, the groups wrote.
So does Musk's Twitter acquisition and Bill Gates' allegations have any effect on Tesla
at all?
Elon Musk's deal for Twitter has features that make it risky, including billions of
dollars of personal debt.
If it goes wrong, it could burn Tesla shareholders and strain Twitter's financial health.
There are already signs of investor concern as Tesla has become one of the world's most
valuable companies.
Its stock has become widely owned by retail investors through mutual funds and other investment
vehicles.
But it has fallen 24% since the disclosure early last month that Musk had taken a sizable
stake in Twitter, a period in which the S&P 500 has declined 10%.
The margin loan to buy Twitter could become a destabilizing force if Tesla's stock values
were to plunge.
A steep decline might prompt banks to sell their stock collateral to recoup the money
they lent to Musk, which could in turn set off even more selling across the market.
The terms of Musk's margin loan stated that he must pay off the entire debt if Tesla's
stock falls more than 40% from its price on the day of the loan.
Even if he's able to finance it, it just is not a sensible deal from a financial perspective,
Professor of Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business.
Musk has demonstrated that he can build two large, successful companies at once.
After some stumbles, Tesla sells far more electric vehicles than any competitor, and
SpaceX is a leading rocket company.
And he may be able to make Twitter more popular and profitable.
Tesla's business is doing well, so analysts do not expect its stock to collapse.
During the first three months of 2022, 75% of the electric cars sold in the United States
were Tesla's.
Recently, traditional car makers like Ford, Hyundai, and Kia have been selling appealing
electric vehicles, and most analysts expect Tesla's share of the market to drop.
But that has not happened yet.
On the contrary, Tesla's market share in the first quarter was even bigger than it
was a year earlier, when it had 70% of domestic EV sales.
So, what do you think?
Do you believe that if Musk were to acquire Twitter?
