Dystopia Update: The Dystopia Lives – A New Project Announcement!

I wanted to share some updates on the dystopia and talk about a new big project that I'm starting. First of all, the dystopia isn't going anywhere. It's an important project documenting the fall of humanity and I have a responsibility to see this project through. I took a little break from working on the layout as I wanted to reflect on my accomplishments. 18 months and 40 videos later I've learned that the dystopia isn't perfect and I want to make some changes. The dystopia project is more of a diorama than a railroad, capturing the fall of society, its architecture, and its inhabitants, including the undead. The storytelling has been great fun, but what the project has in its architecture, scenery, and narrative, it lacks in transport. The railroad isn't enough of a railroad. I want more track. I need more trains. So I'm starting a new passenger themed layout. This new pike will be larger than the dystopia and will focus on moving trains. The layout is based on the passenger corridor serviced by Toronto's Union Station, featuring the trains of GO Transit and VIA Rail. This project will include everything from layout design to electronics and automation. While I build up this new empire, I'll continue adding to the apocalypse, capturing and documenting each new development. I'll properly introduce this project soon and I'm hoping that you'll join me for this new series.
