2019 Nissan Armada Platinum In Depth Walk Around and Detailed Review

Okay so here we are with the beast the 2019 Nissan Armada. My name is Christopher from Cars Unlocked. Today I'm gonna be checking the ins and outs of this vehicle. So this platinum model is obviously in the pearl white with the almond leather which I'll get to in a second. This one is going to come with all the chrome accents throughout. You can see on the front grille and on the side mirrors it does have the nice chrome accents. The headlights are Nissan's signature LED low beam auto on-off headlights so it's going to add to your visibility and then your fog lights are down below. We do have our forward-facing sensors which is going to assist you when parking. So a few of the exterior features that are included are the nice dark painted roof rails, the rear privacy glass, the step rails and the chrome handles. So in addition to the chrome on these mirrors you do get the LED turning signals. It does have a camera right on the around view monitor and they are power folding mirrors so you can fold them in with the touch of a button. You also have the puddle lights down below which is going to make it easier to get in and out and they are auto dimming outside mirrors. They're also going to heat up in the wintertime to make it defrost a lot quicker and add to your visibility. So when you go up to this platinum model you do get the 20-inch machine finish aluminum alloy wheels. It's a 13.8 inch front and rear vented disc brake and the Nissan four-wheel anti-lock braking system. It's going to come with their standard electronic brake force distribution and with the brake assist. Some of the features that are included on the rear of the vehicle are the rear sonar system. It does have the hidden tow hitch which is behind here and the tow hitch receiver. The nice chrome accent is on the bumper as well. You're also going to get your rear backup camera, your moving object detection, your rear collision warning and your rear collision prevention. So let's talk about the power plant of the Nissan Armada. It comes equipped with the Endurance 5.6 liter v8 engine. Tons of horsepower 390 horsepower. It's going to come with 394 pounds-feet of torque. It's going to come with an engine block heater if you're up north here in Canada. It's a 7-speed automatic transmission. It's going to come with an intelligent 4x4 2-speed transfer case. It's going to tow up to 8,500 pounds. It'll give you a ton of towing whatever you need or 3,800 kilograms. Obviously being the v8 it's going to be thirsty on fuel. You're going to average about 17.5 liters per every 100 kilometers in the city and 12.8 on the highway. Nissan's intelligent key does come standard in these models. You're going to get your remote start as well. So you can start the vehicle up from a distance. You can let those heated seats turn on, warm up the car so it's nice and warm when you get in. So now I'm on the inside of the Nissan Armada. Let's start it up and check out some of the features. It's a push-button start using the Nissan intelligent key. There's lots of space in here compared to what I'm used to like the Nissan Pathfinder. The seat is a memory position seat. We have two memory positions. It will sync with the key as well so it will automatically adjust for you when you get in the vehicle. The wheel is power telescopic. It is a nice heated leather wrapped steering wheel. On the wheel they didn't change much from last year's model but we do have the intelligent cruise control. So it's going to help you control your speeds when the cars in front of you. And it does have the Nissan safety shield which is going to include features like our lane departure warning and our lane prevention departure prevention. It also has our blind spot monitor system as well so it will notify you when someone's in your blind spot. It also comes with the blind spot prevention system so it will help you avoid those side collisions if someone is in your blind spot. So checking out the infotainment system and the center stack here. Nice wood finish throughout gives it a nice high-end luxury look. It's going to come with the Bose audio sound system. Really good sound system with 13 speakers as well. It is a multi-touch touchscreen similar to what was in last year's model or what you see in your Nissan Pathfinders. So I can use the touchscreen here to navigate or I can go through and use the touchscreen and dial here with the hard buttons. Sirius satellite radio is obviously equipped. You can play music via the five USBs via Bluetooth audio streaming and there's different apps that you can add to the vehicle as well. Here we have the DVD player. There's two monitors in the back which I'll show you in a second. And then our obviously digital heating is going to come up right on the screen here. It is Nissan's dual climate control system. Nice chrome accent on the shifter. It's a straight back shifter. I'm going to have this massive dial that's for my 4x4 mode. So they stuck with the Armada being with the truck truck feel. You do have the auto 4x4. Not like the the Mirandas and the Rogues where it's the all-wheel drive system. Huge dial and I can shift it into 4H and 4L there. There's also a tow mode and a snow mode. Great for all conditions and whatever you're doing. Cup holders actually hide away which this wood this wood finish really shines when you hide away the cup holders. The seats are heated and air conditioned in the front and then I do have my USB and power outlet right here. So can we talk about the mirror for a second. It is Nissan's intelligent rear view mirror. It does have the three universal garage door systems but it uses the cameras around the vehicle to give a digital feedback of what's behind you. I can also flip it to the regular mode and that's going to give me my regular rear view monitor. But look at that it really is a fixed rear view mirror so it uses the camera to give the feedback behind you and you can see what's behind us there. Really neat. Okay so now we're in the back. This is the middle row. These front two seats become heated and very cool it does have Nissan's dual head restraint entertainment system. So it comes with the wireless headphones. You can have two different sources playing on each head rest. I can also plug into the HDMI port down here and USB ports things like Xbox's, video game consoles, digital cameras and other playback devices if I want to display it on the screen or I can pop a DVD player right into the center console. There's a ton of space up here. I can fold this elbow rest down and then I have the cup holders as well. So Nissan makes it very easy to enter the third row. Just pop the seat up and then I have a ton of space to get in and out back here. The headsets fold up automatically and then the seat comes up like so. So a big feature of the Armada you have the power liftgate which is going to open up that massive trunk. It opens up with a touch of a button. I have a little bit of hidden storage down below here for my snow brushes, first aid kits, whatever I need. One of my favorite features of the Armada it does have a power folding rear seat. So it's a 60-40 split seat and then I can fold the seats down automatically with the touch of a button here. And that's going to give me quite a bit of added storage if I'm not using that third row.
