President-elect Donald Trump confirmed plans to declare a national emergency and use military resources for his mass deportation strategy. Over the weekend, he nominated Chris Wright to be energy secretary and Brendan Carr to lead the Federal Communications Commission.
Lebanon and the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group have agreed to a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire with Israel. Some consider this the most serious effort yet to end the fighting, but Israel has not yet commented.
President Biden pledged a $4 billion contribution to the World Bank during his final G20 summit in Brazil. Global hunger and poverty were among the key issues discussed on the first day of the summit.
Russia warned that Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with U.S.-supplied longer-range missiles escalates the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded, saying, “The missiles will speak for themselves.”
Welcome to NTD News, our top story tonight.
President-elect Trump unveiling a crucial step in implementing his mass deportation
plan.
It comes as he's vowing to be open and available to the media, and is set to announce more
administration picks, Iris Tao reports from West Palm Beach, Florida.
President Biden today pledging $4 billion to the World Bank at the G20 summit, that's

More Israeli airstrikes hit the center of Lebanon's capital as the war with Hezbollah
continues.
How much longer will it last?
Jason Perry reports.
This is NTD Evening News, live from our global headquarters in New York City, here's Tiffany
Meyer.
Good evening, thanks for joining us tonight.
I'm Paul Grady, sitting in for Tiffany Meyer.
President-elect Trump is planning to declare a national emergency to implement his mass
deportation program.
He's also set to announce more picks for key positions.
NTD's White House correspondent Iris Tao has more from West Palm Beach.
President-elect Trump is in Palm Beach this week as he continues to build out his cabinet.
Among the key positions he's yet to fill are Secretaries of Education and Treasury.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Trump revealed more details on how he's going to carry out the
plan for mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
In a social media post, he confirmed that he would declare a national emergency to unlock
military resources.
In his first term, Trump also declared a national emergency on the border to use Pentagon funds
for his border wall, promising some lawsuits.
His plan this time comes after he picked former ICE Director Tom Homan to be his border czar.
You better start packing now.
In another development, Trump told Fox News Digital on Monday that he feels he has an
obligation to be open and available to the press, adding that he's not looking for retribution
toward those who treated him unfairly.
It comes after two MSNBC hosts say they met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
What we did agree on was to restart communications.
As Trump sets to announce more picks this week, he made several announcements over the
weekend, including tapping Brendan Carr to lead the Federal Communications Commission.
Carr, a Trump ally in the FCC, is a staunch Big Tech and China critic and has vowed to
push back on censorship.
Trump calls Carr a warrior of free speech, signaling a shift in FCC priorities.
Reporting from West Palm Beach, I'm Iris Tao, NTD News.
And testimony resumed today in the trial of the man accused of killing Georgia nursing
student Lakin Riley.
The case became a flashpoint in the national debate over immigration during this year's
presidential campaign.
The trial began Friday with testimony from Riley's roommates and law enforcement officers.
While speaking to him, I noticed on his right arm, his bicep, there was a scratch, which
I identified as a potential defensive wound.
On his left arm, he had a forearm scratch that was very similar, which in my mind looked
like fingernail scratches to me.
Federal authorities said Jose Ibarra illegally entered the U.S. in 2022.
He was allowed to stay in the country while he pursued his immigration case.
Riley's parents, roommates and other friends and family packed the courtroom on Friday
and again today.
And today the Group of 20 summit kicked off in Brazil.
It's the last gathering President Biden is set to attend as the world prepares for Trump's
return to the White House.
NTD's international correspondent Ariane Pastore is in Rio de Janeiro.
President Biden on Monday meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and with Mexican
President Claudia Scheinbaum on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
Now Biden and Scheinbaum talked about the importance of working on immigration, security
and transnational crime, topics that President-elect Trump will soon have to handle again, possibly
by working with Mexico.
And Biden also addressed the entire Group of 20 during his opening remarks on Monday
morning.
This is my last G20 summit.
The first day of the G20 summit focused mostly on global hunger and poverty.
President Biden announcing the largest ever contribution to the World Bank.
I'm proud to announce the United States is pledging $4 billion over the next three years
to the World Bank's International Development Association.
The $4 billion pledge exceeds the last US contribution made in 2021 by $500 million.
The G20 held its first session on Monday morning, which included the launch of the Global Alliance
Against Hunger and Poverty.
The main topics this week are expected to be trade, climate change and international
security, such as ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
This comes just two weeks after former President Trump's decisive election victory.
He's expected to implement policy changes in all three areas discussed at the G20.
That's partly why some of the heads of state at the summit are reportedly focusing more
on the transition to Trump rather than the outgoing administration.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping is also in Rio this week.
Practitioners of the spiritual belief Falun Gong held up banners in front of the G20 entrance
on Sunday night.
They gathered to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun
Gong in China.
But supporters of the Chinese Communist Party, or CCP, blocked their banners.
The Brazilian Falun Gong practitioners say the CCP supporters told them to take down
the banners, infringing on their freedom of speech rights.
They also say the CCP supporters later followed them to the Uber and took a picture of the
license plate.
Now, the CCP has a history of harassing human rights activists at global events.
They often send people to block banners, as they did here, for example.
And in one instance, at the APEC summit in California last year, a CCP supporter even
attacked one of our NTD journalists who was at the event.

We turn now to the latest in the war in Ukraine.
President Biden is now allowing, reportedly allowing, Ukraine to use American long-range
missiles to strike into Russia.
NTD's Washington correspondent Jack Bradley has more from the White House.
President Biden allowing Ukraine to strike targets within Russia using American weapons
represents a major policy change from previous months.
Now, Ukraine is only allowed to strike within the Kursk region, which is Ukraine-occupied
territory that belongs to Russia.
As far as the timing of this, this comes right after a weekend barrage of missiles and drone
attacks on Ukraine by Russia, as well as thousands of North Korean troops going into the Kursk
region.
Officials say Biden has allowed Ukraine to use American missiles to strike into the Kursk
region of Russia.
The missiles have a range of nearly 200 miles.
Ukraine is only allowed to use these missiles in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian troops have taken this region of Russia after the war began.
This is the area that North Korea has been sending over 10,000 soldiers to aid Russia.
President Biden urging G20 leaders to support Ukraine.
The United States strongly supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Everyone around this table in my leadership as well.
Russian officials have condemned the decision, saying it risks an escalation in the war,
and this would mean that the U.S. was directly involved in the conflict.
The Hungarian foreign minister echoing this sentiment.
It is an incredibly dangerous decision to allow the usage of weapons provided to Ukraine
by NATO member states against areas deep inside Russia.
This clearly would bring the real threat of World War III very close.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky saying actions speak louder than words.
Today, much is being said in the media about us receiving permission for the relevant actions.
But strikes are not made with words.
Such things are not announced.
The missiles will speak for themselves.
News of Biden's decision comes one day after Russia launched one of its largest attacks
on Ukraine since the start of the war.
Russia has deployed about 50,000 troops to the Kursk region.
Allies hope Ukraine can hold on to this area to be used as a bargaining chip during potential peace talks.
President-elect Donald Trump, who takes office in about two months, says he vows to end the war quickly.
As far as President Biden, he met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping over the weekend
on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Lima, Peru,
where Xi told Biden that he's ready to work with the incoming Trump administration.
Reporting from the White House, Jack Bradley, NTD News.
The Biden administration urged lawmakers today to quickly approve about $100 billion
in emergency disaster relief funding.
Their quest comes after severe storms have depleted the funds of several recovery assistance programs.
The funding package includes $40 billion for FEMA's disaster relief fund
and more than $2 billion for the depleted Small Business Administration loan program.
A senior administration official said the request would be delivered to Congress as soon as today.
The Biden administration has made multiple requests for more disaster aid
since Congress just last passed supplemental funding in December 2022.
The director of the White House Office of Management and Budget said lawmakers
have not acted despite multiple storms.
Analysts said they expect up to $55 billion in insured losses
from this year's Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
And under the incoming Trump administration, what changes could we see in U.S. education?
Indeed, Correspondent Jason Blair brings us more on what the president-elect
has said he intends to do.
President-elect Trump has numerous pledges and statements on his platform
and Agenda 47 plan related to U.S. education,
an area involving many hot topics of debate and headlines in recent years.
One thing is Trump has said he plans to get rid of the federal Department of Education
and bring power back to the states.
If he were to completely get rid of the federal department,
or drastically reduce it, congressional approval would be needed.
Trump has said while on the campaign trail that he might reduce it to just a few people.
They would just be tasked with making sure schools are teaching basic subjects
like English and arithmetic, as well as staying away from teaching quote,
woke material.
Getting rid of the Department of Education is also something new Department of Government
Efficiency co-head Vivek Ramaswamy has said he plans to recommend,
something he's called for in the past as well.
In Agenda 47, Trump also mentions a tuition-free higher education school
called the American Academy.
Its mission will be to make a truly world-class education available to every American,
free of charge and do it without adding a single dime to the federal debt.
Trump says his administration will create it with quote,
billions of dollars that we will collect by taxing,
fining and suing excessively large private university endowments.
He says some of these universities are quote,
turning our students into communists and terrorists
and sympathizers of many, many different dimensions.
According to Trump, the academy will offer the full and complete equivalent to a bachelor's degree
and grant credit for previous coursework for transferees.
Another pledge on his platform is to quote, keep men out of women's sports.
Trump will likely make an effort to undo Biden's changes to Title IX.
Biden's alterations went into effect this year and changed what qualifies someone
to enter gender-separated spaces in schools like locker rooms,
as well as compete in gender-separated sports.
Currently, those changes are on hold in 26 states.
I will ask Congress to pass a bill establishing
that the only genders recognized by the United States government
are male and female and they are assigned at birth.
Reporting in Washington, D.C., Jason Blair, NTD News.
A sweeping government reform is on the horizon this as Elon Musk is slated to spearhead a new
group aimed at improving efficiency in the federal government.
But are average Americans open to this new idea?
NTD's Sam Wong was out in the National Mall in D.C. to hear from them.
What do you think about the idea of having a government efficiency program with Elon Musk at the helm?
So I don't really think it's a good idea to have somebody who's really
a wealthy, wealthy person who could influence decisions that could help his own back pocket.
The idea is great as to how it comes out. I'm just hoping for the best.
Efficiency department is not a bad idea. Him at the helm is a little concerning.
Honestly, my opinion right now, the last four years or so, you have
the U.S. in a trillion dollar deficit. I think that'll be cleared up.
Interestingly, on the one hand, I have a lot of respect for Elon Musk and his ability to
make a company efficient. Whether that will happen with the government or not seems fairly uncertain.
You know, efficiency isn't necessarily a good thing. I think effectiveness is better.
Great idea. It definitely needs efficiency. Even if he does a small percentage, it'll save us a lot.
Anytime you have a governmental agency, it tends to be inefficient.
Love the concept. I just don't know how he's going to do it.
Do you have any expectation?
I have an expectation they're going to try. Probably going to try and get
some departments actually completely taken out.
Are you open to the idea of having this department in place?
Yes, I am.
Sure. I'm going to pay attention and see what happens.
So I'm curious to see what it will do.
Well, I mean, I can see what happens, but as long as it doesn't go in the wrong direction.
But I'm somewhat suspect.
So with all of these different departments and all of these regulations in place,
are you concerned about the current size of our government?
Absolutely. There's so many rules that every person in the United States commits
at least three felonies a day unknowingly.
There is a lot of fluff in a lot of areas. It could be toned down.
I think sizing it down might help with the cost of everything.
Well, certainly there's always probably room for trimming at all times.
We have this here efficiency program. You overdo it and it looks good for the short term.
But then a few years later, it's like we need to hire all these people back.
The United States is a big corporation, so we have a lot of different entities.
As long as they get the right attention and the right people in the right place, that's important.
And Israeli forces launched more airstrikes in the center of Lebanon's capital as its
war against Hezbollah continues. But how much longer will it go on?
One Israeli official has weighed in.
Anthony Jason Perry has the latest.
On Monday, residents in central Beirut stood in the aftermath of more Israeli airstrikes
inside their capital city as the war between Israel and Hezbollah rages on.
The Lebanese health ministry said five people were killed by an airstrike in central Beirut
on Monday. One resident said his seven-year-old daughter screamed to him for help after an
explosion.
Because of the smoke, they could not breathe from above. I don't know how I went up. The
gate that I was opening was on fire. It was burning. I don't know how I opened it. I went
up and took them from among the rubble. Thank God it went well.
Meanwhile, Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu,
confirmed some details of Israel's recent attack on Iran.
It's not a secret. It was published. There's a specific component in Iran's nuclear program
that was hit in this attack.
Israel also recently confirmed that Netanyahu gave the approval for the incident that caused
thousands of pagers, known to be used by Hezbollah terrorists, to explode throughout
Lebanon. Iran's supreme leader met with Iran's ambassador in Lebanon, whose eyes were apparently
injured from an exploding pager. And Iran recently said they support Lebanon's efforts
for a ceasefire to the war.
Israel's government spokesperson, David Mincer, said this on Monday about a ceasefire.
We'll be very straight with you. The military campaign will continue until the immediate
threat from Lebanon is removed and our people, Israelis living in their own sovereign territory,
in their own homes, can safely return to their homes.
However, a top Lebanese official told Reuters on Monday that Lebanon and Hezbollah have
agreed to a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire with Israel while adding some comments on
the content. Meanwhile, Israeli troops on the ground in Lebanon continue to try to remove
the threat from Hezbollah, releasing this video on Monday.
Those are mortar launchers which are directed at the exact angle towards Israeli civilians.
Some of them have rockets in them. If they were to be fired today, you would have
civilians being injured and dying in between two to four minutes, just like that.
Also on Monday, Israeli forces reported that a barrage of 30 rockets was launched towards
the western Galilee region of northern Israel. Drivers pulled over to take cover as some of
the rockets were intercepted.
Hezbollah strikes have killed 43 civilians in northern Israel and the Israeli-occupied
Golan Heights since the war began following the October 7th massacre in 2023.
Jason Perry, NTD News.
And some breaking news for you. In a Truth Social post just minutes ago,
President-elect Trump has announced he's nominating former Congressman Sean Duffy
as Secretary of Transportation. Trump says Duffy will prioritize rebuilding America's
infrastructure and ensure that, quote, our ports and dams service our economy without
compromising our national security. We'll have more for you when we get it.

I was a healthy 47 year old, no symptoms. But then my doctor discovered I had a bad heart
valve that was beyond repair. The scariest day of my life was when I was sitting on a gurney as
I looked at my wife was at my side and my kids had me surrounded. Deep down you know, this could be it.
This could be all there is. Not having him around for Riley to grow up with and have that pop-off
that would have been hard. This little heart valve did something really big. It saved my life. I
wouldn't be here today without it. The research for this heart valve was funded by the American
Heart Association. And that's why I'm asking you to become a monthly donor for just $19 a month.
When you do, you'll help fund the next medical breakthrough that could save your life or the

that. And that's why it's personal for me. We're very thankful for everyone who is a donor because
it gives us more time. Every 40 seconds, someone has a heart attack. The next person you help save
could be someone you love or even you. Become a monthly donor today by calling or going to
helpheart.org because it's personal. Welcome back. A powerful winter storm is set to hit the U.S.
this week as millions of people prepare to travel ahead of Thanksgiving. NTD's David Lam reports.
With Thanksgiving coming up next week, Americans are already feeling the seasonal cold.
This week, a strong winter storm is set to bring snow, cold temperatures, wind, and rain. The
National Weather Service says heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected
across the Central Plains into the mid-Missouri Valley. Widespread precipitation and heavy
mountain snow will continue across the Northwest. In the Southern Plains, there are already several
severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings in parts of Texas and Oklahoma. On Wednesday,
cities such as Minneapolis and Milwaukee would be on snow shower alert. Parts of Louisiana and Texas
were under a tornado watch set to end tonight. A powerful bomb cyclone is forecast to hit the
West Coast from Washington State to California midweek. There could be flooding. David Lam,
NTD News. The City of Odessa, Texas is expanding a 1989 ordinance regarding the use of restrooms
by members of the opposite sex. NTD's Cristina Corona has more. In Odessa, Texas, the City
Council voted 5-1 to expand an ordinance on the use of restrooms in public buildings. The original
ordinance allowed individuals to claim $10,000 in damages if they identified an individual using a
opposite sex. The vote extends the ordinance to private facilities. This allows civil penalties
and trespassing charges for anyone using a restroom that does not match their sex.
The American Civil Liberties Union, or ACLU, of Texas strongly opposed the move,
arguing it infringes on the freedoms of transgender individuals and may violate Texas law.
In an open letter, the ACLU criticized the lack of notice given to residents and business owners
and warned of the increased risk of discrimination and what it called gender policing. Critics also
raised concerns about the ordinance's lack of clarity and its potential impact on disabled
individuals who may require restroom assistance from someone of a different sex. According to
local police and reports from the Washington Blade, Odessa and other states with similar
bans have never recorded any incidents involving harassment by transgender individuals in public
restrooms. Christina Corona, NTD News. And Texas education officials are set to vote on a
proposed elementary school curriculum that incorporates teachings about the Bible into
reading and language arts lessons. This optional curriculum raises questions about the boundaries
of religious instruction in public schools. The curriculum covering kindergarten through
fifth grade would be voluntary, but districts would receive financial support to adopt it.
If the Texas State Board of Education approves the curriculum, individual schools and districts
would decide whether to implement it. Texas has already taken steps to integrate religion into
public schools, being the first state to allow religious chaplains as school counselors. Now,
the proposed curriculum has sparked controversy with some parents, teachers, even Christians
raising concerns it could mix education with religious promotion. Supporters, including
Governor Greg Abbott, argue that the Bible is essential to understanding American history
and that a well-rounded education should include knowledge of Bible stories and their historical
context. And Spirit Airlines is filing for bankruptcy. Though travelers can still book
flights as usual, the small airline hasn't made a profit in the past five years. Here's the story.
Spirit Airlines files for bankruptcy after suffering constant net losses since 2019.
Spirit expects to be dropped from the New York Stock Exchange and is struggling to
renegotiate over $1 billion in debt payments. The airline says it has up to 50,000 creditors.
The plan that they're proposing is to convert their bonds to equity. The current equity holders
are going to get nothing. The new equity holders would be these converted bond holders. There's
going to be a big legal fight over that because, ostensibly, the bond holders would turn around
and then sell the company. Aerospace expert David Noletti says the underlying issue is the business
model. Spirit Airlines originally found success by offering rock-bottom prices. Its planes even
had home of the Bear Fair painted on the engines. The mainline carriers, Delta, American, United,
they've all figured out how to compete with Spirit and other low-cost carriers on their
routes. Most of the flying public are going to pick American over Spirit, price being equal.
Noletti says Spirit may have to change dramatically to continue operating. He says
its ticket prices are low, but its expenses are not. During the COVID lockdowns, Spirit lost
billions. While bigger airlines recovered, Spirit continues to struggle.
And still to come this evening, President Biden, Chinese regime leader Xi Jinping,

today's top headlines. President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that he plans to declare a
national emergency and use military resources for his mass deportation plan. Over the weekend,
he nominated Chris Wright for Energy Secretary and Brendan Carr to lead the Federal Communications
Commission. A top Lebanese official told Reuters that Lebanon and Hezbollah have agreed to a U.S.
proposal for a ceasefire with Israel while adding some comments on the content. Some say this is the
most serious effort yet to end the fighting. But so far, there's been no immediate comment
from Israel. Russia is sending out a warning to Biden. That's after he decided to allow Ukraine
to strike targets inside Russia with U.S.-supplied longer-range missiles.
Moscow says it would escalate the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responding,
quote, the missiles will speak for themselves. President Biden pledging a $4 billion contribution
to the World Bank during his final G20 summit in Brazil. Global hunger and poverty were among
the main issues G20 members discussed on the first day of the summit. And also at the G20
summit, the Chinese regime announcing new steps to expand its influence and agenda across the global
south. Joining us now to discuss the latest dynamics in the West's relations with the
Chinese regime is Casey Fleming. Fleming is the CEO of Black Ops Partners Corporation,
a national security expert. Casey, great to see you. It's been too long.
Yeah, thanks for having me. Casey, Biden and Xi, I'm sure you know,
met at the APEC summit ahead of the G20. I want to read you a quote from the joint statement.
So Xi Jinping said to Biden, in an age of flourishing sci-tech revolution,
neither decoupling nor supply chain disruption is a solution. Is this a message to the incoming
Trump administration? And how is the CCP reacting to the election outcome?
It is a message to the incoming Trump administration. And it's also a form of
bullying. They do not want, Xi and the Chinese Communist Party, do not want their income or
revenue stream from the United States to be disrupted. It's funding their war machine.
It's funding the unrestricted warfare strategy against the U.S. and the free world.
What are they most afraid of?
They're most afraid of losing their edge on, you know, building their war machine against the
United States, continuing to steal technology from our companies, from our military and so on.
So they want this. They want to keep any kind of lead that they possibly can,
which includes the soft power around the world. And this whole thing, the global south and where
Biden is and Xi is this week.
What do you see the main differences coming with the Trump administration with regards to China?
What do you think is going to come first?
I think Trump will also continue along his harder line with tariffs to let him know that
you can't just sell cheap goods in the United States unfettered and put U.S. companies out
of business or reduce profits to U.S. companies. But also every American needs to understand when
you're buying products from China, you are funding the Chinese Communist Party who has
said that they are sworn enemies of the United States and the free world.
Is there any indication that the CCP anticipated Trump winning this election? And have you seen
them perhaps either through the rhetoric or actions made any preparations for him coming in?
From our intelligence, we believe and what we saw was the Chinese Communist Party was kind of
hoping and praying that the other team would win. So this wasn't really a total shock, but it was a
shock to the Xi's regime, because again, it's going to limit trade. It's going to have much
more hawkish people in the cabinet and the administration that understand China's true
intentions of defeating the United States and the free world and completely replacing
the United States and the free world. Casey, I want to read you another quote
from this joint statement. Biden said to Xi Jinping, on counter-narcotics,
we resume cooperation with China and overdose deaths are coming down for the first time in
five years. Can you explain this cooperation and what it says about China's role in this
fentanyl crisis in the United States? There is no cooperation. It is 100%
lip service on both sides. I would actually tell, if it were me, I would tell Xi Jinping,
any more fentanyl, you got 30 days to shut it off. Any more than that, we're going to start
cutting off sales revenue into the United States. Honestly, the whole fentanyl thing is drug
warfare, which is part of unrestricted warfare, to kill Americans, to take us off of our feet,
destroy families and destroy our will to fight. It's part of a much bigger
plan and strategy called unrestricted warfare. Can you explain China's role in this?
China's role in unrestricted warfare and in drug warfare.
Yeah, particularly in drug warfare. It's to weaken families and weaken the U.S.
The illicit fentanyl capital of the world is Wuhan, China. They make the actual fentanyl there,
and they also provide precursor chemicals to the Mexican drug cartels. They ship these into
the western port of Mexico called Michoacan, southwestern port. Then there, they use the
fantastic distribution networks of the Mexican drug cartels. They also work with the Mexican
drug cartels to do money laundering in support of Mexican drug cartels and the CCP through the
fentanyl piece of it as well. So make no mistake, this is war. It's drug war, and it's meant to
completely destabilize the United States along with about 100 other different methods of unrestricted
warfare. I want to stay on another
kind of topic on this unrestricted warfare. We saw that outside the G20 meeting in Brazil,
Chinese operatives, they harassed and threatened reporters from our own media and our sister
media, Epoch Times. And they also harassed and threatened Falun Gong practitioners who were
protesting the CCP's persecution of their faith. I'm not sure if you saw it, but are you surprised
the CCP is still able to get away with this in foreign countries? I still am surprised that it's
happening. But I think that, and I'm hopeful, that the other foreign countries that are free
nations will take the lead from the United States, where the American people said,
enough is enough of this whole communism push through the United States and the free world.
And I hope our other allies and free world nations will take the lead from the United States
to throttle back the Chinese Communist Party and their global plans of taking over the free world.
And something else you'll be the perfect guy to speak to, considering you're with Black Ops.
We had the bipartisan group of senators warning about the Chinese hacking group called Salt
Typhoon. That was recently able to breach several US telecommunications companies,
you would assume had sophisticated defenses and lots of valuable information about Americans.
How behind China are we when it comes to these cyber threats?
Significantly behind China. I actually had a couple of CEOs ask me,
how are the Chinese so good at hacking our systems? And I said, facetiously, I said,
I'm sure it has nothing to do with Chinese student spies being educated in our US universities and
master's programs in internet security alongside our own children and young adults. At one point
at the peak in 2018, there were 405,000 Chinese student quote spies in US universities. And the
reason we call them spies is because when you're raised in a communist regime, it is your national
duty to spy. That's pretty incredible. What are you seeing? Are you hearing any rumblings from
the Trump administration around, say, espionage efforts from China or countering that in the new
administration? It's a priority in the administration, and they're certainly well
aware of it. With his appointments in certain cabinet positions like Waltz, that's with a TZ,
and Marco Rubio, those are very strong China hawks that are very, very astute in unrestricted
warfare and what the CCP has leveraged over many decades against the United States.
Are you expecting anything specific to come out of it?
Over time, yes. I think Trump's administration learned a lot in the first term,
and I think now they're ready to deal with these issues straight on without any delay.
Casey Fleming, Black Ops Partners, we appreciate it. Thank you, Casey.
Thank you. And House Republicans will select a new chairperson for the Foreign Affairs Committee
after Congressman Michael McCaul announced he'll be stepping down as chairman.
Our Washington correspondent Luis Martinez has more on the story.
Congressman Michael McCaul of Texas will be stepping down from his chairmanship of the
House Foreign Affairs Committee as he has reached his six-year term limit per House
Republican conference rules. In a statement, Chairman McCaul said that,
out of respect for rules and desire to see future leaders rise from our conference,
I have decided not to pursue another term as chairman. During his chairmanship,
Congressman McCaul was instrumental in pushing for bipartisan TikTok ban,
Iran sanctions, and the investigation into the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
There are four representatives vying to replace Congressman Michael McCaul
at the helm of the highly influential House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Congresswoman Ann Wagner, the current vice chair of the committee and former ambassador to
Luxembourg, will be running for the chairmanship, as well as Congressman Joe Wilson, a senior member
of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a chair of the Armed Services Subcommittee,
as well as Congressman Brian Mast, a committee member and a chair of the Oversight Subcommittee.
Congressman Darrell Issa from California, former chair of the House Oversight Committee,
has also thrown his hat in the ring. Congressman Issa is a staunch China hawk
and has sided with President-elect Trump in calling to a swift conclusion to the war in Ukraine.
Positions that Trump's pick for national security advisor Mike
Walsh and Trump's nominee for Secretary of State Marco Rubio share in common.
One of the key activities that we see the Chinese government doing is, in fact,
predictive use of AI in order to both steal real intellectual property. The Chinese military
itself has divisions that exist both to steal military secrets and commercial activities.
Congressman Michael McCaul, the outgoing chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee,
is expected to run for a Senate seat if and when Senator John Cornyn of Texas steps down.

And a former student went on a stabbing rampage at a vocational college in eastern China,
killing at least eight people. It happened just days after the country's deadliest attack in a
decade. Now it's prompting concerns about Chinese society's deeper stress levels. Here are the
details. Heavy security and floral tributes were seen outside a vocational college in eastern China
on Sunday after a former student went on a deadly stabbing rampage, according to police, in the
country's second mass killing in a week. The knife attack took place on Saturday at the Wuxi
Vocational College of Arts and Technology in the eastern province of Jiangsu. At least
eight people died and 17 others were injured. Police said a 21-year-old male suspect was
arrested at the scene and confessed. Footage obtained by Reuters showed a person in an open
field at the college being detained. Reuters was able to confirm the date and location of the
video. Wuxi City Police said the stabbing suspect was angry over failing an exam, not getting his
graduation certificate and his internship wages. It took place on the same day as authorities in
the southern city of Zhuhai said they had charged the man who had rammed his car into a crowd Monday
night. The attack outside a sports stadium killed at least 35 people, with eyewitness videos showing
the chaotic aftermath. The 62-year-old suspect was reportedly angry at the terms of a divorce
settlement, according to police. The killings have touched off a rare and heavily censored
online discussion over mental health in China. That has also put in focus the Chinese society's
deepest stresses, especially among young people, as the world's second largest economy slows.
This Wuxi resident said she felt that people's mental health has been worsening.
I think this is also a reason why most young people are reluctant to get married,
because they may not even be able to guarantee their own survival in life,
let alone their children's future, like their education and other things in their lives.
To put it bluntly, there may be more of these deadly attacks to come, this man said.
He added that he hopes those in charge will do a better job of putting preventions in place.
At least six other high-profile knife attacks have been recorded this year across the country.
Still to come this evening, in boxing, Friday night's clash between former champion Mike Tyson

And welcome back. Now for your sports news, we're joined by NTD's Dave Martin. Dave,
big weekend in sports. Let's start with that big fight, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
Incredible. Incredible. Incredible that Tyson won that first round, to be honest. And probably
most people had him winning even the second round. Clearly, he slowed down after that.
But you know, Netflix came out. They said they got 60 million viewers to watch that. Now,
if you compare that, though, to like the Super Bowl. Now, I should say 60 million households.
The Super Bowl, though, 120 million viewers. Of course, the Super Bowl, they use that third-party
Nielsen ratings to do those. So it's not really an apples to apples comparison. So we're not quite
sure what that 60 million households is. It's obviously a lot. I mean, it was not a pay-per-view
event at all. Anyway, though, I think both Tyson and Jake Paul really came out with a lot, got a
lot of respect from the fans. I mean, Tyson, just for getting in the ring, was someone half his age
winning the first two rounds. He really looked great in that first round. Paul for the sportsmanship
showed. Really, in the final seconds, he bowed to Tyson instead of going for the knockout,
which a lot of people thought he could have got if he had gone for it. So it was an entertaining
match, even if it was one-sided. Were you surprised with the result? No, I was not surprised. I was
hoping to see Tyson in vintage for me. He was training real hard, but it certainly seemed an
uphill climb to beat a 27-year-old who was a good boxer, too. I was still surprised. Hey, it's nice
to be able to say you beat Mike Tyson in a fight. Oh, my gosh. Six people have, maybe. Inside the
NBA will now be an ABC and ESPN. How did this change come about? Yeah, this is part of a settlement
agreement between the NBA and Warner Brothers Discovery. Now, I can tell you, NBA fans are
surely rejoicing over this. This show has won 21 Sports Emmy Awards. You've got Ernie Johnson
hosting with three former NBA greats. It's really kind of a funny show. But the settlement, like I
said, from Warner Brothers Discovery, which has aired NBA games really since 1980s, they lost out
in this latest round of bidding. You could say they were outbid, but they had a five-day window
as part of their contract to match anyone's offer. They chose to match Amazon's, but the NBA said it
wasn't a true match. Warner Brothers took them to court. This settlement, or this keeping the
show that kind of was part of the settlement, unusual because TNT is still going to produce it,
but it's going to air on ABC. Now, that starts next season. This is the last year that TNT is
going to air NBA games. So, a bit of a change for the league, but they got billions from Amazon,
NBC, and ABC. So, they're okay going forward. Now, in football, your team, the Kansas City,
lost to the Buffalo Bills. Is this, we're seeing some power shift here in the AFC?
You know, the last couple of years, I kept thinking that the Chiefs were not going to
be the top team in the AFC anymore. You know, they shifted to more of a defensive team.
But still, come the postseason, they keep winning. The Bills know this as well. You know,
this was certainly a big win for them, but until they can stop the Chiefs in the playoffs,
I don't think they're going to take too much from it. I mean, these two have played in the
postseason three of the last four years. The Chiefs have won all three of them. They've
been some real classics here, too. Everyone wants to see another one come this season.
Personally, I'm not sure what to make of the Chiefs again this year. They've got a great
defense again. They got Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. They have so many injuries to
their playmakers. It's going to be very interesting. They're going to have to dig
deep if they're going to win this time around. And now, in college football, BYU lost to Kansas.
Is this going to affect the upcoming playoffs at all? You know, it affects who gets those critical
four first-round buys. You know, five of the 12 playoff spots go to the five highest-ranked
conference champions. BYU is in line right now to get the big 12 spot. But anyway, of the top
four, those I mentioned, the top four conference champs get a first-round buy. But BYU, with this
loss, they're now 9-1. They don't have a very difficult schedule. Boise State, not from one
of the power conferences, could actually go ahead of them and get that fourth first-round buy,
which seemed impossible before the season started. Boise State is not from a power conference.
They have the same record as BYU, but their one loss is to number one-ranked Oregon. It was by
just three points. You look now at BYU. Their one loss is to a Kansas team that has six losses. So,
on paper, it's not really looking good for BYU right now. So, it's a little surprising that one
of the power conferences, the big 12, is not looking that powerful. But there's still a couple
of weeks left to get this all decided. Who's your tip? Who's my tip? In the playoffs. Oh,
I'm going to go with Ohio State. Oh, there you go. I know. Nobody's asked me that yet,
so keep that silent, all right? There you go. Dave Martin, appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Paul. That's all for today's news. For around-the-clock coverage,
