ALBANY – The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is now accepting applications from eligible state residents to help them save on the cost of heating them homes this winter as energy costs continue to rise.
The program could provide up to $1,086 this winter to help low- and middle-income households and older adults, depending on how they heat their home.
Households that do not automatically receive HEAP assistance can apply now. Residents can apply at ny.gov/HEAP.
“No New Yorker should have to choose between heating their homes this winter and keeping food on the table,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “As President trump’s war in Iran drives up energy prices across the county, programs like the Home Energy Assistance Program will deliver relief to New Yorkers who need it most.”
Persons in need of assistance can call the NY Connects helpline at 800-342-9871 or their local office for the aging office.
