Twenty percent of Putnam’s electorate took part in early voting

CARMEL – Nine days of early voting concluded Sunday with the Board of Elections reporting 14,024 residents of Putnam partaking in the process.

Commissioner Cathy Croft said of the 73,000 voters eligible to cast ballots on Tuesday, some 20 percent visited either the Board of Elections headquarters in Carmel or the American Legion Hall in Cold Spring to cast ballots early.

The numbers were more than three times higher than last year’s election when 4,712 cast ballots early but paled in the 2024 Presidential election when 24,210 residents cast their ballots early.
