CARMEL- Halloween got an early start in Putnam County when hundreds of residents visited the Sheriff’s Department complex in Carmel for the county’s first-ever “Trick or Treat on the Beat.”

Sheriff Brian Hess was appreciative of the community response telling Mid-Hudson News: “Thank you to every family, neighbor, and little ghost, goblin, and superhero who came out to celebrate with us. Seeing our community come together like this is what it’s all about.”

The sheriff also thanked members of his department including those represented by the PBA and Sheriff’s Employee Association in addition to members of the Carmel, Kent, and Brewster Police Departments and emergency services agencies for their support.
