ORANGE COUNTY – Senator James Skoufis D, Orange County), and Assemblymembers Jonathan Jacobson (D, Newburgh) Chris Eachus (D, New Windsor), and Paula Elaine Kay (D, Rock Hill), are advising residents that the 20% resident discount they secured in the state budget for Orange County drivers crossing the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge toll (formerly known as the Tappan Zee Bridge) is now active. E-ZPass tagholders will pay $5.80 versus the standard $7.25 per trip, with no minimum trips required.

The Thruway Authority sent e-mail and regular mail notices out to Orange County residents in two batches: one to those who had account errors (e.g. an unpaid balance),  and one to those whose accounts have no outstanding issues and would automatically enroll in the discount program.
“This is a meaningful win for Orange County residents, one that will keep real money in people’s pocketbooks,” said Senator Skoufis. “Rockland and Westchester residents have been getting a discount crossing the Tappan Zee for years. I’m grateful to my Assembly colleagues, the Governor, and the Thruway Authority for their partnership in bringing parity to Orange County. I remain laser-focused on ways to make life even a little more affordable here in the Hudson Valley.”
