GOSHEN – Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta has been appointed to the National Sheriffs’ Association Drug Enforcement Committee, which is co-chaired by Ulster County Sheriff Juan Figueroa.

His appointment notes his ongoing commitment to combating illegal drugs, strengthening law enforcement partnerships, and protecting communities from the devastating effects of drug-related crimes.

Serving on the committee will allow Arteta to collaborate with fellow sheriffs and law enforcement leaders nationwide, share strategies, and continue to combat the ongoing threat of illegal narcotics and drug trafficking.

“Combating illegal narcotics requires a united and persistent commitment from law enforcement at every level,” Arteta said. “We must continue to strengthen our partnerships, support effective enforcement efforts, and hold those who distribute illegal drugs accountable. Protecting our communities from the dangers of narcotics remains a priority, and we will continue working together to make a difference.”
