KINGSTON – With less than three days left before election day on November 3, election officials are finalizing preparations for voters.

Ashley Torres, Ulster County’s Democratic Elections Commissioner, told county legislators on Thursday that poll security is a top priority.

“We work with the sheriff’s department, we work with emergency management,” she said. “We create a command center in our office, so we have someone from sheriff’s, someone from emergency management, and they are there with us starting on the 24th all the way through election day.”

The department has a rapid response team and is reinforcing what election law says, Torres said.
