NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh can’t seem to hold on to a comptroller. The latest person to hold the post apparently left abruptly recently, prompting the city to hire MGT Solutions to recruit a new candidate.
That is the same consulting firm hired to recruit qualified candidates for the position of city manager. A shortlist of those applicants will be presented to the city within weeks.
The city council will formally vote at its session next Tuesday to hire the firm to screen potential candidates for comptroller.
