NEWBURGH – Serious crime continues to decline in the City of Newburgh.

Interim City Manager Jason Morris said the numbers speak for themselves.

“The city’s crime reduction strategies continue to produce results,” he said. “Preliminary part one data crime data through August 31 shows a 24-percent decrease compared to the same timeframe in 2025. This includes a 22 percent decrease in violent crime and a 25 percent decrease in property crime.”

Police Chief Brandon Rola said the current policing strategies are producing positive results.
