POUGHKEEPSIE- Central Hudson Gas & Electric was recognized with POWER’s Community Impact Award for its philanthropic efforts and commitment to communities across the Hudson Valley.

The utility, which serves about 315,000 electric customers and 90,000 natural gas customers, marked more than a century of service in New York in 2025.  As part of the milestone, the company launched a program centered on completing 125 acts of service and pledged up to $1 million to local organizations supporting Hudson Valley residents.

“Serving the Hudson Valley goes well beyond delivering safe and reliable energy,” said Steph Raymond, Central Hudson’s president and CEO.  “We have a responsibility to help strengthen the communities we serve, and we take that responsibility seriously.”

The company said its community investments have focused on issues including food insecurity, STEM education and community revitalization.  Raymond credited Central Hudson employees and community partners for helping make those efforts possible.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our employees and community partners, whose work every day helps move the Hudson Valley forward,” Raymond said.
