TOWN OF WALLKILL – State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli was in the Town of Wallkill on Wednesday to announce the return of$16,000 in unclaimed funds to Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services and to remind residents, businesses and nonprofits in the Hudson Valley that there are unclaimed funds that have been lost or forgotten over time waiting for the rightful owners to claim from the state, which has been holding them.

State Senator James Skoufis (D, Cornwall) brought DiNapoli to Orange County to announce nearly $107 million in unclaimed funds in that county alone.

“For individuals and groups and agencies and sometimes municipalities; many of them don’t even know it’s their money. It’s lost money that is sitting in what is called the unclaimed funds program. And it’s millions and millions and millions of dollars right here in Orange County,” he said.
