CARMEL- Downtown Carmel was a small-town America celebration Saturday when hundreds of young people marched along the county seat’s main thoroughfare from the Gleneida Avenue entrance to the Putnam Courthouse, past the historic courthouse to Fair Street, winding up at Carmel High School during the school’s annual Homecoming Parade.
Led by the Carmel Fire Department, athletic teams, and school clubs filled the half-mile procession, which ended with a celebration on the school’s athletic field.
Weather conditions were ideal for the festivities with golden sunshine and temperatures in the mid 60’s.
