GOSHEN – Three Middletown men were arrested following a long-term investigation into narcotics trafficking in the city and surrounding areas, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday.
Denzel Warner, 35, Jose Soto, 35, and Darius Monroe, 36, were charged with narcotics offenses and arraigned in Middletown City Court. All three were remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
The Orange County Drug Task Force, along with the Middletown Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office, executed search warrants at three residences and three vehicles as part of the investigation.
Authorities said they recovered hundreds of grams of cocaine, U.S. currency, scales and narcotics packaging materials.
Investigators also conducted surveillance of two vehicles that traveled from Orange County to the Bronx and returned before traffic stops led to searches of the vehicles. A third vehicle was also searched.
“It takes the persistent efforts of law enforcement to disrupt the trafficking of narcotics into our communities,” said District Attorney David M. Hoovler. “I commend the efforts of the Task Force and our law enforcement partners whose careful work resulted in the arrests in this case. We remain steadfast in our commitment to stemming the tide of the drug trade in Orange County
and will continue to allocate resources and manpower to these investigations which are critical to ensuring the safety of our citizens.”
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Alexis Gregory.
