MILLBROOK- Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, in partnership with the Mid-Hudson Regional Clean Energy Hub and Central Hudson, will host a free community Energy Savings Simplified event on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Highland Falls Library (Community Room), 298 Main St., Highland Falls, NY 10928.

This event is the third in a growing series designed to make energy savings programs accessible for Hudson Valley residents. It is open to Central Hudson and Orange and Rockland customers.

Attendees will get one-on-one support from trained Energy Advisors to complete applications on-site for programs that lower monthly utility costs for income-eligible New Yorkers.

Available resources include enrollment in EmPower+, guidance on the Energy Affordability Program (EAP), and information on the Enhanced Energy Assistance Program (EEAP), which may expand eligibility to households that have not qualified for income-based assistance in the past.

“Every event we hold confirms the same thing: people want this help, they just need someone to walk them through it,” said Ifetayo Tyler, Co-Director for the Mid-Hudson Regional Clean Energy Hub. “Highland Falls is another step toward reaching residents where they already are.”

The event is family-friendly and includes light catering for attendees. Hispanic-speaking families are welcome: ¡Las familias hispanohablantes son bienvenidas!

Residents are encouraged to bring a copy of their energy bill and, if applicable, their SNAP, HEAP, TANF, or SSI award letter to help streamline same-day enrollment. All are welcome to attend and explore available options, documentation or not.

Reservations are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. RSVP to reserve a spot with an Energy Advisor:
