WALDEN – After serving overseas for nine months with the Naval reserves, State Assemblyman Brian Maher (R, Walden) will be turning his attention to family and state government service once again.
He has been in constant contact with his staff while away and knows the issues before the state and country before he deployed are the same now.
“Affordability. Making sure that we do everything we can as legislators to work together and really overcome the polarization,” he said. “For me that’s a priority. Just going overseas and serving in the military, you have people from all walks of life, all socio-economic backgrounds working together to accomplish a mission. I would like to bring some of that sentiment to Albany to get things done.”
The legislature returns to Albany in January for its 2027 session.
