MONROE – A 56-year-old woman was killed early Sunday when her car ran off Cedar Cliff Road in the Town of Monroe and the damage sustained by the 2020 Hyundai resulted in a vehicle fire.
State Police said the driver and sole occupant, Jodi Lester, was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Town of Monroe Fire Department, Monroe Town Police, Orange County fire investigators, Monroe Town EMS, State Police Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit, and Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit.
Anyone why may have witnessed the car fire shortly after 2 a.m. on September 6 or has information about the incident is asked to call the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
