TARRYTOWN- New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced plans for a $50 million overhaul of U.S. Route 9, or Broadway, in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.
The project will replace four traffic signals in Sleepy Hollow with roundabouts at Pierson/Gordon avenues, Pocantico Street, Bedford Road/New Broadway, and Beekman Road. Two additional intersections will receive traffic signals.
Plans also call for a separated 10-foot shared-use path, new sidewalks, improved crosswalks, curb extensions, and upgraded, ADA-compliant bus stops.
The project received $25 million in federal BUILD grant funding. Final design and approvals will proceed, with construction expected to begin in 2028.
