MONTICELLO- The Sullivan County Department of Public Health is monitoring a measles outbreak in neighboring Pennsylvania, where 540 cases have been reported across 36 counties.
Health officials say they are in regular contact with the New York State Department of Health and are monitoring local MMR vaccination rates. Adults who are unsure of their measles immunity are encouraged to speak with their healthcare provider about testing or vaccination.
Sullivan County officials say they are prepared to investigate any suspected local cases or exposures, including contact tracing, testing, treatment and vaccination efforts.
