WHITE PLAINS – A Westchester grand jury has indicted a Bronx man on charges of attempted rape, assault, and sexually motivated burglary for violently attacking a mother and daughter inside their Greenburgh home.

District Attorney Susan Cacace said Alberto Botero, 39, was charged with burglary, burglary as a sexually motivated felony, attempted rape, attempted sexual assault, assault, three counts of criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation, and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

The incident took place on July 1 at about 6:25 p.m. It is alleged that Botero was outside a Greenburgh home when he grabbed the hand of a woman who was at the entrance of her home to retrieve a delivery. She thought he was the courier and as she attempted to pay him, he pushed her inside.

The indicted alleges that ‘he grabbed the woman by the neck, shoved her on a sofa, got on top of her, and forcible tried to pull up her dress while taking off his pants.

The victim’s mother intervened, striking Botero with a broom while yelling at him to let her daughter go.

He then allegedly pushed the mother to the floor, dragged her by the hair, pinned her down and squeezed her neck.

The daughter threw objects at him in an attempt to stop the assault on her mother before she ran out of the house.

Botero ran after her where Greenburgh Police officers took him into custody.

Both victims received medical treatment at the scene.
