RHINEBECK – A 22-year-old Tivoli man, who had gone to his grandmother’s home on James Street in Rhinebeck to spend the night with her, has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder.
State Police said Klahr had gone to his grandmother’s home for a weekly visit and at about 10:20 a.m. on August 8, troopers found the woman lying in bed with significant bruising to her head and face, as well as apparent blood loss.
The victim was taken to Northern Dutchess Hospital for treatment.
Following investigation, Klahr was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal mischief, criminal obstructing of breathing or blood circulation, and criminal mischief.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail pending a future court appearance.
