JEFFERSON VALLEY – Police in Putnam and Westchester were alerted Thursday after three teenagers allegedly stole a victim’s purse by force at the TD Bank branch in Jefferson Valley and fled to White Plains, where they were later arrested.
Yorktown Police were notified of the strong-armed robbery at the bank branch on Lee Road, less than a mile from the county line, and broadcast a hotline message urging police throughout Putnam and Westchester to be on the lookout for the suspect’s car.
Carmel Police, members of the Putnam Sheriff’s Department Police, along with personnel from the Westchester County Police and the Westchester County Police General Investigations Unit, responded to aid Yorktown Police.
About an hour later, police found the three suspects in White Plains, arrested them, and returned them to Yorktown.
They were identified as three Queens residents Ashton Munoz Cordoba, 19, Engelber Eduardo Rudas Seijas, 19, and Harguar Steven Arias Salamanca, 18, who police said acted together to forcibly steal a victim’s purse containing more than $1,000 in cash and multiple credit cards.
The three were charged with robbery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property, and then remanded to jail.
Police did not provide any information about the victim of the robbery, although the bank branch is located near the Jefferson Village senior citizen complex, home to hundreds of elderly people.
