PORT JERVIS – The 40-year-old male who sustained gunshot wound to his leg Sunday afternoon, July 26, was arrested by Port Jervis Police the following on Monday. He apparently shot himself in the leg.
Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden said Adrian Booth has been charged with unlawfully possessing a weapon.
Booth received a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the thigh, believed to be accidental in nature, while in his 158 Pike Street apartment at about 2:15 on Sunday afternoon. He was transported to Garnet Medical Center shortly after a call to police from 9-1-1 reporting the incident.
One source said he had a previous gun conviction, therefore should have not have had a gun in his possession.
Booth was treated at the hospital and is currently in custody at the Port Jervis Police Station. He is due to be arraigned in Port Jervis City Court.
