NEWBURGH – City Councilman Rob McLymore, who was among those who led Attorney General Letitia James to slap a $400,000 penalty on the owners of the Kenney Apartments for allowing deplorable living conditions to exist, has launched a campaign to do the same Mullins and Fogarty Apartments, both owned by the Newburgh Housing Authority.

McLymore said those complexes are long overdue for modernization.

“They have extended interruptions in their essential services no heat and hot water. Things like that are a persisting issue and we are finding that this is ongoing in these housing complexes, and we need to put a stop to some of this because our residents definitely need and have to have a better quality of life,” he said.

McLymore is notifying the attorney general’s office and other state and federal agencies and elected officials in hopes of remedying the poor living conditions.
