MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Coalition Against Antisemitism is outraged over two hate crimes against members of the Jewish community in the area.
In Woodridge, a recent incident was captured on video of a man brandishing a crowbar while screaming antisemitic threats at Jewish bystanders.
In Greenfield Park, police are investigating an apparent antisemitic attack on several Jewish women riding bicycles who were attacked by passing motorists who sprayed manure at the group, striking two women.
Coalition spokeswoman Lynn Skolnick said her group is calling on local officials and leaders of all faiths to speak out and condemn such antisemitism and hate.
“We are concerned that this is a growing sentiment in the county, and we feel strongly that law enforcement needs to address it immediately to help prevent it from spreading,” she said.
Police are investigating both of those recent incidents.
