Thousands on hand for Mahopac FD Parade

MAHOPAC – The Mahopac Fire Department Parade is widely known as Putnam’s summer tradition.

Thousands of residents lined up along Route 6 Thursday evening under glorious weather conditions for the annual event that featured fire departments and marching bands from throughout Hudson Valley and western Connecticut.

The parade also kicked off the Mahopac Fire Department’s annual summer carnival.

The Mahopac Fire Department, Putnam’s second busiest fire department, has been serving residents of greater Mahopac for the past 111 years.
