STONE RIDGE – A new SNAP Employment & Training program will be starting up shortly at SUNY Ulster in partnership with Ulster County Government.

The federally funded workforce development program makes available support services to students at no cost to help them complete their education and enter the workforce, said College President Dr. Alison Buckley.

“The high-demand fields for SUNY Ulster that we are very excited about, it’s healthcare, advanced manufacturing, technology, education, clean energy, human services,” she said. “We are excited about the fact that this is the investment to help us get the workforce that we know Ulster County needs.”

County Executive Jen Metzger said the program “removes the barriers that too often keep people from completing their education.
