POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Legislature voted Tuesday to create a comprehensive annual housing accountability and implementation framework to centralize the process of collecting, analyzing, and reporting housing data.

At present, municipalities, state and nonprofits gather housing data, much of the information is in individual reports.

This resolution directs the county Department of Planning and Development to consolidate available housing data into a single annual housing report for the legislature.

“This resolution brings housing information together so Dutchess County can better plan for its housing needs in the future and support the infrastructure investments of tomorrow that create thriving communities,” said sponsor Trevor Redl. “Housing affordability issues locally are harming our local economy; many people are leaving. We must do everything we can to make more progress.”
