PUTNAM COUNTY- The Putnam Veterans Memorial Park became a haven for dogs on Friday and Saturday when the Putnam Kennel Club conducted its annual dog show.

Four hundred dogs, forming dozens of breeds, converged on the park with their owners and handlers from across the eastern United States.

Handlers pampered the dogs as they prepared for the contests.

Virtually every type of dog was represented ranging from Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, Dogue Bordeaux, Old English Sheepdogs, and Welsh Corgis to Boston Terriers, Shih Tzu’s, Burmese Mountain dogs, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Bullmastiffs and Kerry Bleu terriers.
