NEWBURGH – In a year or so, when you drive into the City of Newburgh as Route 17K becomes Broadway, a new apartment complex will replace an old house and restaurant.

The city planning board has given the approval for construction of the new facility, said Acting City Manager Jason Morris.

“The mixed-use project from 825 to 829 Broadway consists of 57 apartments and relocating the existing restaurant on-site into the first floor of the new building,” he said.

The project will include a parking garage, new sidewalks and street trees.

The city has become a location for apartment developers with several projects on the drawing boards.
