POUGHKEEPSIE – City cops and EMS responded to a report of a woman with severe bleeding on Friday night around 10 p.m. and ended up looking for a person of interest in a possible assault. The victim with injuries was in an apartment on Delafield Street, suffering from lacerations to her legs and other areas of her body.
The woman was triaged at the scene and taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
Police investigated the area, and a “BOLO” (Be on the Lookout) was issued to city police and law enforcement in surrounding areas for a vehicle believed to be carrying the possible attacker.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., the BOLO advised officers to notify city police if they observed a tan or gold-colored Nissan Rogue with Ohio license plates that fled the Delafield Street crime scene in an unknown direction. The person of interest was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black shirt and shorts, and “funny-looking sneakers”.
If anyone recognizes the man’s description, they are asked to contact the City of Poughkeepsie PD confidential tip line at 845-451-7577.
