MOUNT KISCO – The first phase of a $5.4 million restoration of the Merestead Estate in Mount Kisco is underway.
The initial project is the $3.4 million restoration of the farmhouse, County Executive Ken Jenkins said on Monday.
The total project is focused on safeguarding the architectural and historical integrity of the 130-acre site. The remaining funds will be used to restore and upgrade the other facilities on the property, including a barn.
The farmhouse on the estate dates back to the mid-1800s.
