Massive fire destroys home in Cronomer Valley

CRONOMER VALLEY – Fire destroyed a residence on Centurion Court in the Cronomer Valley area of the Town of Newburgh Sunday evening.

Flames consumed the structure as firefighters from several Orange and Ulster County departments battled the blaze.

Three residents escaped the two-alarm fire, were checked out by Town of Newburgh EMS and refused medical treatment, according to officials at the scene.

Tankers were brought to the scene with a porta-tank set up for water to be pumped down to the dead-end street.

Central Hudson was called in to cut the power and a deputy fire coordinator also responded.

The fire is under investigation.
