COLD SPRING- Nine-one-one calls received at the Putnam 9-1-1 Dispatch Center in Carmel alerted North Highlands Fire Department personnel of a working fire at the Cold Spring Mobile Home Park.
Crews arrived minutes later shortly after 1 p.m. along Route 9 just south of Route 301 and found multiple mobile homes on fire.
Calls went out for mutual aid and members of the Cold Spring, Garrison, Continental Village and Putnam Valley Fire Departments responded along with additional mutual aid from the Village of Fishkill, Rombout, Glenham, Dutchess Junction, and Hudsonville Fire Departments from Dutchess County.
Firefighters attacked the inferno while other responders deployed multiple hose lines to protect neighboring residences.
Putnam Bureau of Emergency Services Battalion 19 Coordinator Tom Merrigan said one trailer was destroyed, a second was heavily damaged and left uninhabitable, and a third sustained exterior damage.
The Putnam Fire Investigation Team said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
