GOSHEN- Programs that support young people across Orange County are being invited to apply for a new round of county funding aimed at strengthening youth development, recreation, and support services.

The Orange County Youth Bureau is accepting proposals from municipalities and nonprofit organizations to run programs in 2027 serving children and young adults from birth through age 20.  Funding, estimated at about $948,000, will support initiatives in areas such as youth development, sports, education, and services for runaway and homeless youth.

County officials say the programs should help improve outcomes in areas like life skills, confidence building, and healthy lifestyles, and must be delivered within Orange County, with limited exceptions for approved trips outside the county.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said the funding reflects the county’s ongoing commitment to youth opportunities.  “Orange County is committed to supporting programs that provide young people with opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive,” Neuhaus said.

Orange County Youth Bureau Director Rachel Wilson said the initiative is designed to keep young people engaged in positive local activities while building stronger connections to their communities.

The funding will be distributed through a competitive reimbursement process, with awards supporting programs operating between January 1 and December 31, 2027.
