BREWSTER- Brewster High School recognized the Class of 2026 during its picture-perfect 135th commencement ceremony.
Family and friends cheered as the graduates and faculty marched onto the school’s athletic field to the familiar sound of Pomp and Circumstance.
The Brewster High School NJROTC Color Guard presented the colors, and retiring teacher Sarah Barnes led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Principal Nichole Horler recognized the Class of 2026’s top ten students prior to remarks from Salutatorian Giana Kusterer, Valedictorian William Blanck, and student speaker Luisa Martinez Lemus, whose speeches reflected on friendship, family, perseverance, growth, and the memories that shaped their Brewster experience.
Superintendent Michelle Gosh spoke about the significance of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary and encouraged graduates to become engaged and active citizens while Horler and Board of Education President Kerry Cunningham each used different metaphors—a butterfly and a bee—but shared a common message: “Embrace who you are, stand up for what matters, and continue growing as you begin the next chapter of your journey.”
