NEW CITY – Rockland County Executive Ed Day has named Patrick Frawley, Esq. as the new commissioner of the county Social Services Department.

Frawley previously served as chief assistant district attorney in the Rockland DA’s office for the last six years.

He replaces the retiring Commissioner Joan Silvesri, who has been in that role since 2017.

“His longstanding commitment to fairness, integrity, and public service has defined his career, and I have no doubt he will bring that same compassion, dedication, and determination to supporting the individuals and families who rely on these vital services,” said Day.

Frawley will assume his new role on June 30 with an annual salary of $224,680 plus health and state pension benefits.

The county legislature confirmed his appointment at its June 16 session.
