PATTERSON – Family and friends are mourning a 27-year-old man who died Sunday night after heavy machinery fell on him while he was working at his farm in Patterson.
Tyler Pfister was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Sheriff Brian Hess reported on Monday that members of his department, along with Brewster State Police, Patterson firefighters, the Patterson EMS Squad, and an Empress Paramedic, rushed to the farm on Cornwall Hill Road for a report of a machinery accident.
The sheriff said responders found Pfister suffering from “severe traumatic injuries near a skid steer that had fallen on top of him.”
Despite EMS personnel performing CPR, a Putnam coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
