POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department partnered with Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson for a gun buyback program on Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church.  More than 80 guns had been exchanged for gift cards in the first two hours of the event.

Assemblyman Jacobson was on hand Saturday afternoon as firearms, ranging from antique blackpowder Derringer pistols to modern assault pistols, continued to be surrendered to the police.

The final count, according to Assemblyman Jacobson, would be released after all of the weapons were inspected and tabulated.
